I have a Weber gas grill that is falling apart after 6 years. Not sure what I want to replace it with yet, most likely going back to charcoal.

I made cold brew coffee yesterday, it is a revelation. Coffee always made me sick before, this didn't, and has so look much caffeine. Tastes smoother or something

Don't worry. Astro drops in every once in a while, smashing several frozen food products together. The hipster level resets at that point.

One of my exes used to run her own coffee catering company and she swore by cold brew. She was a fiend for it.

I tried cooking up some Monkfish last night....if you're into fishy fish then it probably would have been great. I'm not a huge fish guy so it was too much for me--my filet was thick as hell and the texture was like...idk a lobster meat that flaked. I bet it would be great in some sort of fishy stew, though! Anyone have any experience with this ugly fish?

I tried to drown my fish in fatty flavor using this recipe:Broiled Tilapia Parmesan Recipe - Allrecipes.com
. By far my favorite way to prepare most any whitefish.

you're supposed to dilute that cold brew w/ water, that's like CRAZY concentrated

When i do cold brew (great for iced coffees) i use my hario cold brew
Amazon.com: Hario Water Brew Coffee Pot, 1000ml, Brown: Kitchen Dining

as always, use fresh whole beans and grind right b4 you brew, which is simple. a cup of coarsely (i should not be fine) ground coffee and stick it in the fridge for a hour. It's concentrate so it's up to the user to figure out how they like their ratios. I do this for friends when i know they come over, usually they go anywhere from 2 to 1 to 3 to 1.

Ppl usually use this, the Toddy
Amazon.com: Toddy Cold Brew Coffee Maker With 2 Extra Filters: Single Serve Brewing Machines: Kitchen Dining

It has a filter and stuff too, some might like that. (the hario is just super fine mesh)

So the wife told me I will make turkey for Thanksgiving that I don't get a choice but I can make a side meat.

I am going to do a wellington without the mushroom I think.

Have you tried negotiating with dick shadow art?
I believe you are the only coat hanger dick around here, man. We just don't have your skills.

A+ on the user title change, by the way.

And a_skeleton_03, if you're thinking for the future, you might want to do a small goose as the side meat. Once your wife sees how much better it is, she may let you do one to replace duck next time. Try to find fresh, though. Not frozen.

Put a small pinch of salt in with your coffee grounds before brewing. Gives most coffee a smoother, less acidic taste. Takes the edge off just a bit.

What process/how did you make it?
I have a French press, bodum 32 oz, I coarsely ground the beans and threw them in there for about 12 hours. Making some more tonight and I will try the salt that joeboo talked about.

I know it is super concentrated, but that shit definitely wakes me up. I drank the 32 oz over two days, will probably space this next batch out over 3.

This should probably be renamed the cooking for hipsters thread.
I'm having friend chicken, mashed potatoes, and a regular green salad tonight.

Drinks will be water or your choice of Coke or Dr. Pepper, or regular iced tea (not green tea)

Dessert is pound cake and strawberries.

Not hipster enough?

For beakfast it will be homemade bisquits, fried eggs, and bacon.
