FWIW my future sister-in-law never asked me to make her a special dish, she usually is happy just eating the sides. I was only thinking of doing it to be nice, especially since they just got engaged like a couple of days ago.
If you want to be nice you should punch her in the gut and shove raw hamburger down her throat. Maybe you'll cure her of that garbage veganism.

Made sugar cookies, have ABs overnight cinnamon rolls in the fridge, ham ready to go, kids ready for bed. Time to get shitty drunk and wrap presents.

It's also to help food not stick to the surface when cooking.

EDIT: I was way late to the party on that response.

He was also talking about the outside of the pan, not the cooking surface. You're lucky it's Christmas or I would insult you, Khane!

Merry Christmas, Cooking Thread readers!

Stew turned out fucking amazing. At first I was disappointed because it seemed watery but after I added the dumplings and cooked it for another 25 mins it thickened up.

I highly recommend that recipe.

Got an enamled dutch oven for Xmas.

Santa makes me haaard
My wife found a beautiful blue enamled dutch oven in a thrift shop, buried under a pile of crap. It is new - I can't find any marks on it. Also, I got a Lodge 12" cast iron skillet. Two questions - 1. it has the silicone sleeve for the handle, can I really slap that on and use it to pull the pan out of the oven? And 2. It says it is preseasoned. Do I trust them?

I have a lodge 12 inch, it was preseasoned and I used it for like 2 years before I reseasoned it. And that probably wasn't necessary.
