I shouldn't talk. When I do pulled pork I cook it the day before.

Takes the pressure off of a shoulder being done too early or too late on the day of the event.

Pulled the trigger on an instant pot on prime day, anyone have any good experience with them?

I made this last night after hearing about it randomly on a podcast. I had most of the ingredients on hand (other than the noodles and specific sauce) for whatever reason. But it was actually really really tasty. I normally avoid delicious lasagna because it is so terribly unhealthy and makes me fat. I know it sounds like blasphemy. Work with me here.

This will honestly be my go to lasagna recipe. It's that good.

I bet the sorbet would be refreshing. Does it have lemon in it?
I have been thinking of doing a basil watermelon thing.

I was in Ukraine earlier this year and they have a mean obsession with a kind of Georgian Basil Lemonade. It was really refreshing. I do recommend trying to recreate it.

Cottage cheese would be an improvement to that...thing.

I'll make it, but if I don't like it, I'm going to come back here and write TJT TJT a very stern response.

Dropped the ribs in the bath this morning! My normal clear plastic bin was too small. I had to go up in size and use a cooler, or else the ribs would be overlapping too much.

EDIT: Wait...that lasagna is vegan? Not sure I can handle that...

I got a char griller kamado for father's day and I have smoked about 4 chickens so far on it, way easier than I thought. Also have done ribs and boston butt so far with fantastic results and am planning on doing a packer brisket next month for a birthday/McGregor fight next month

Nice, thinking about getting one of those next year, giving up my life goal of making my own smoker because I'm never going to actually do it.

So is the BGE worth the cost difference between that and the Kamado?

I looked at it like this, I can buy the akorn 3 times for the price of the bge if I ever have problems with it. Now I will say that it does come with leaks in the thing and you can get the gaskets made for the bge and put them on the akorn to fix it, as well as RTV silicone on the inside around the top damper and the thermometer in the dome. I have not done any of this and am able to hold 225-250 for the smokes so far (I do the chickens @ 325)

That's the one I got. Good shit.

Mine holds 250ish for 10 hrs, that's the longest I smoked.

I also bake in it during summer. Holds 350ish perfectly as well.

I did pizza @550F many times as well on a stone.

It's not that building your own smoker is hard. He's married with three kids and there's just always an excuse NOT to work on a small pet project that you don't need.
