I've decided to stop eating healthy and go back on the McCheese junkfood diet.

Thank God I didn't try sous viding anything, I may have died.

One does not simply walk into Costco and get out for under $50.

Got a boneless lamb leg for 4.99/lb. which I'll be grinding. The cheapest ground lamb I've seen was 8.99/lb.

Hell, I can't get out of Costco for less than $200

Except the couple times I've run in after work just to grab a $5 rotisserie chicken from the gods

Doing a test run for Thanksgiving and deep fat frying a turkey. Tips on where to get 4 plus gallons of peanut oil for cheaper than $11-12 a gallon?

We got out at $195, which was better than I'd figured. Also, got this cool little drone thing, which have been around awhile, but this one has a cage around it, which is good with my subpar flying skills.

Still waiting for Burnt Ends to show up.

Aldi's is usually that price, but they don't carry it regularly. I think the last gallon I got was 9.99

That's going to be pretty standard unless you are buying in bulk from like Sysco/Jordanos/whatever company provides businesses with bulk shit in your area. Even then, you aren't going to see substantially lower where you think you are getting a massively sweet deal. The prices hardcore normalized after the Trans-fat revolution, and you are catching a rare bird if you get lower than 10ish.

this seems the good value oil for the turky frying ppl
http://www.walmart.com/ip/Lou-Ana-Pu...-3gal/10294990

works out to 9.6 per gallon. you will most likely NOT find this in any Walmart or super-Walmart but you can ship it to your local Walmart and pick it up a few days later (or buy 50bucks of stuff and get free shipping) you'll probably want 5ish gallons anyway so 2 of those suckers wouldn't be bad.

it's also 2o bucks cheaper than amazon

i have not fried a turkey, but those reviews are all about turkey frying, i suggest reading.

I think I may have actually picked up some tainted loose-leaf lettuce. Made a salad with it Sat night, then spent a good part of Sunday running to the bathroom every 10m-15m. I thought it was the breakfast I had on Sat morning, but I made a salad late last night and since I woke up this morning it's been the same damn shit all over again.

Thanks! I had seen that, but it doesn't have ship to store, and ordering 2 qualifies me for free shipping as long as I want to wait over a week to get it. Was hoping to get it a little faster than that unfortunately.

popcorn secrets?

looking to add some, i picked up this from amazon
Amazon.com : Coconut Popcorn Popping Oil (Gallon) Gourmet Food

coconut oil and some flavcol salt stuff? from what i hear its as good as movie theatre popcorn.

I just have el cheapo air popper. I put my butchers knife(chinese chef knife) since it's so wide to cover the mouth so the seeds don't shoot into the bowl.

About the only thing i know is that orville redinboker kernals sucks. Jiffy time is good, and i tried Amish kernals when i lived in Lancaster (actually got fucking cloth baggies), and really no difference.

Amazon.com : Bakers and Chefs 100% Peanut Oil, 35 Pound : Coffee : Grocery Gourmet Food

according to the reviews 35 lbs is 4.6 gallons, which makes that $7.60 / gallon.

Wait, shipping costs more than the oil. Nevermind.

This one is cheaper and probably costs even more to ship.

Amazon.com : Peanut Oil Blend - 35 lbs. : Kitchen Products : Grocery Gourmet Food

I think you're just going to have to pony up. Just remember to strain it and save it for next time.
