As far as the summer as a whole goes, I liked to joke that Summer has turned into Christopher Nolan and comic book movies, but this year has made that disturbingly true: It's down to Christopher Nolan (Interstellar, Transcendence by his longtime cinematographer Wally Pfister) and comic book movies (Xmen, Captain America, GotG, maybe Spiderman 2), and a few outliers (Edge of Tomorrow, 22 Jump Street).
