Isn’t the entire fucking game story and LW gated? I stopped right after HoT. I don’t think I ever did it’s LW story.

So half a million people jumped in when this came alive in steam. Owed a pal a rollup, why not it's free.

Pvp was pretty good, ez to copy and paste a build in.

No, not the entire game but many achievements and skins are. Legendaries, etc. Thing is though, GW2 isn't your typical gear game. Max level gold gear from the auction house is cheap, easy to obtain, and the stats are almost as good as Ascended. You can do almost all of the content in gold gear. Ascended is a little better but it's just a crafting / gold grind.

Legendary weapons and armor have the same stats as ascended, but you can switch between stat types and every toon can use them. Mostly QoL stuff really. Legendaries are gated behind story, achievements, tons of grinding and gold. Some legendary weapons can be bought off the auction house, but they are very expensive.

Many mounts and elites are story gated. But the raptor is easy and quick to get if you own PoF. I's one of the better mounts. And the base game elite usually has a build for every class that is viable.

It is very possible to play GW2 without doing the story and a lot of people do. Also, WvW and PvP don't require story completion.

Path of fire is a really good expansion and I recommend you go through it.

This expansion the story is pretty bad and filled up with current politics and diversity references. The last fight was really fun and then they bamboozle you in the final step of the story.

Overall the game is still very fun and Specter is basically unkillable unless you get hit by a bosses slow wind up.

Everyone likes the game until theyre trying to get these dickheads to not complete an event so itll spawn the sequence of other events for an achievement. Meanwhile, those same people are trying to complete the event so it'll spawn their sequence of other events for their achievement. That type of design is the piss poor shit that made me quit the last play through. Never mind having to wait till the god damn event spawns again and needing to repeat the whole dick waving contest.

GW2 is fine, but as soon as you try to put any effort into the completions it can and does become just as toxic as LOL chat.

So I just started playing this a day or two ago because I saw it on steam for free. Pretty fun so far.
First off....I'm casual as fuck and really only interested in open world PVE, pretty much exclusively playing solo.

I got a Necro up to lvl 24, mostly using minions, a staff and blood magic so far. I like it so far. Is this the best LAZY PvE build?

Targetting + Autoattack - This kind of drives me crazy so far. What combination of options do I need to turn on to make it so that if I'm auto-attacking something, it'll automatically switch to the next target when the first one dies....with autoattack only turning off when I exit combat?

Check out metabattle, they'll have all the popular builds so you can figure out what you want to do. Just don't spend any money on sigils and runes until you're deadset on what you want to do, it's expensive.

As for the auto attack I don't know, they do wonky shit with attacks and camera zooms during fights to keep you engaged. The zooming in camera shit drives me nuts.

That's my key combo, not sure if it's assigned by default.

Ctr+T is also fantastic for making a target and then you just press T to change to that target. Great for fights with target changes.

incidentally, if you want to take things in the opposite direction, check out 'action camera' in the keybinding options. Takes GW2's action/tab-targeting hybrid system and leans it more heavily towards the action side of things. Also makes it so you're not holding down the right mouse button for three hours straight, which is nice.

I'll have to check this out.

All this does is make it so that when you cast a spell, it automatically "targets" the poor schmuck you're hurling fireballs at, right? I already have that turned on (and my #1 skill set to autocast), but it won't switch over to another target when the first one dies. I was hoping there was something that will do that AND auto-switch to a new target when the previous dies.

I don't think you guys understand exactly how lazy I am with my gaming....

That's what it should do. If you kept spamming your attack it'll auto target the next mob. Unless you just want to walk away from the keyboard and have it continuously attack whatever is in range??

It dont think it works that way for guild wars since you technically dont need a target to attack it.

It'll select a new target if I keep smashing the 1 key, but it won't auto select one. Oh well. I guess I can manage a single button press while I'm shitfaced and gaymen

The action camera will auto select the target as you attack and it worked great at first now it keeps stopping the auto attack. I'm sure it's a setting but annoying.

Look at the site linked earlier, he has builds for every type of game play you.. like builds that require only a couple button presses during combat.
