I mean, I could see it being useful as part of a panel of hormones / prehormones. I was just trying to point out that I had read an article that said going out to walmart and buying a bottle of DHEA and throwing it down with your multivitamin each morning isn't going to have much of an effect on testosterone levels at all (in most men) and ergo not make your dick measurably harder (in most men).
Oh for sure it was originally slated to be scheduled under the 2006 precursor act (the result of the ruckus made by Sosa and McGwire claiming andro built their bodies which was a load of crap and a lie) There was no stopping the scheduling of DHEA though as it was technically a precursor to an androgen. And all androgens and their precursors must die and be made into felonies to possess, of course, because they are evil heinous substances. DHEA would be no exception.
But guess who got it removed? A geriatric anti-aging health lobby pulled some strings and got DHEA taken off the bill at the last second right before it hit the floor. You'd be paying through the nose at some of these TRT clinics if DHEA wasn't removed from that bill.
