Cortisone shot?

I've been working in warehouses my whole life, and every single guy I've ever talked to says "I regret getting the shot, don't get one."
depomedrol 80
the visit before i got a shot of it in the finger for trigger finger, he told me this will hurt a lot going in, but would go away in a few hours. it did both.
the next visit got the shot in my elbow, he said this will hurt a lot of the next few days. while driving home had to get ice to put on it as it was hurting so bad. day 2 it was still hurting. day 3 had to go to er with kidney stones and after iv pain meds it didn't hurt anymore.

Been getting some numbness and tingling in my right shin. I suspect this is complications from sitting at my desk for too long, but I've had a standing desk for at least a few years and I try to use it a couple hours a day. I've been upping that usage to half the day, doesn't seem to do anything.

Are there some stretches or activities I can do to target this? I was thinking there would be some pain that would go along with this, but nothing else really hurts that much.

Mild sciatica symptoms, probably. I'd try changing positions (it might actually be the standing, not the sitting, if your posture isn't perfect) and a little PT you can find by googling.

follow up chest CT this morning for a 9mm nodule found in my lung in the aftermath of the abscess craziness.

"Stable 7 mm nodule right lower lobe"

Will get another CT in a year but almost certainly is not cancerous.

Thanks for putting a name to it. I was confusing sciatica with scoliosis. It's much easier to google for treatments when you have the right conditions.

Standing might be the issue. I find myself leaning on the desk frequently with my forearm against the side or an elbow on the desk.

Getting too old to get lost in your work/video game it seems.

Maybe try a desk treadmill. I hate just standing, but walking is no problem.

I've considered it given the amount of standing I'm now forcing myself to do. Might as well walk my way to an extra dessert.

Got any recommendations?
I have an older Nordictrak with the desktop that's attached as part of treadmill structure. Takes up a bunch of room and not very easy to move around, but it's built like a tank, and the desktop has plenty of room. I have a second monitor that lives on the treadmill desk that's mirrored from my computer, and I just grab my wireless kb/mouse when I change to the treadmill. I checked into replacing mine recently because I thought the motor was dying, and most of the ones you see if you look up treadmill desks now are small/flat things that are just the tread and meant to slide under an existing desk and go fairly slow. Very few things seem available now that are comparable to the one I have. That's probably ok for most people, but I feel like I'd end up flipping my desk over at some point doing that lol.

If you just want to try it out, I think the under-desk units can be as cheap as a couple hundred, but I decided for how I use it, I'd rather replace the motor in mine than try to get one of the under-desk things and then a separate desk to go over it. Probably depends a lot on what your current set up is like and how flexible it is.

Not mine, but same model. Can get them on ebay and probably from used sports stores.

Got an Uplift C-Frame that's 80 inches wide. I'd perhaps find it difficult to be productive on one monitor unless it was a meeting I didn't have to pay attention to. Either way, thanks for the suggestion.

There is a special place in hell for assholes who are exercising while on the phone for meetings.

Starting yesterday I look like I've been punched over a large area of my body with what appears to be bruising. Doesn't hurt, doesn't itch. But anywhere I might have brushed up against something I have a bruise. And it's not like I was actually doing anyhting other than sitting at the computer all day.

Not picking at ya, just a general question : On a scale of 0-10, how overweight are you?

after 2 months finally got to see endocrinologist. she said my blood calcium was the highest she seen in her 2 years there. they did new blood work but not gotten results yet. next tuesday, got have a nuke scan and ultrasounds. my vitamin d has been low and that has to be normalized. once all that is done, they will do surgery to remove parathyroid gland(s) that have tumors or whatever.
she looked at my history and said this has been going on for last 3 years and is the cause of my kidney stones.
also this weakens bones so have to have a test to see how much damage it has done to them. she also talked about risk of osteoporosis.

With high blood calcium you might want to add k2 to D intake.

Note that most patients with primary hyperparathyroidism (due to a benign tumor in their neck) have PTH levels ranging from 50 to 150. When patients have PTH levels above 180 it is because their tumor is very old (usually this means over 15 years old) and the tumor is composed of MANY cells. If your PTH level is over 180, then some doctor somewhere was asleep at the wheel for at least 10 years.

Going to the Mayo clinic again next week. This time the one in MN, last time was in FL. Owner of a company I have done a lot of work for got his Dr. to provide a referral and they are providing a flight. They did send a deal and ask if I had the vaccine. You think they would drop it since they got sued and lost over laying off some Drs. that wouldn't take it.

They probably just want to know if they can blame your condition on it, these days.

Okay boys and girls. Today was the day. Remember my wife had a double mastectomy earlier this year? She had a full hysterectomy today. Ovaries too. she has a syndrome that makes that tissue 60% more likely than most people to develop cancer, and she already had several fibroids developing. So she is once again in bed, and this time the anesthesia is making her sick and barf and barf and barf. Just what she needs. Have surgery in your abdominal area, then spend time barfing. It's not a good combination.

Folks, this is the love of my life. I'm watching her in pain yet again. It fucking sucks. And not only that, she has been "joking" about how with no boobs and no uterus she's not really even a woman at all anymore. When she first woke up today she said, in her anesthesia haze, "oh, I was hoping I wouldn't wake up." We talked a little about this (as much as she is able), and she said she's such a drain on the family. This broke my heart. She is a rock. She is not a drain on the family. Our friends knew she was having surgery today, dinner showed up. And there was a menu included. Our friends are making dinner for us for the rest of this week and halfway through next. Was that necessary? Nope. But it is one thing less that we have to think about. And my wife is usually the one who is organizing things like that. I'm humbled by our friends' generosity.

But I am still watching my wife work through physical and psychological pain. And there's nothing I can do. I can help make her comfortable as much as possible. I can encourage her. But watching someone you love so desperately have to go through pain hurts so much.

If you're the type, say a prayer for my wife. She still has pain in her chest from the mastectomy, and now she has this.

Someone just cut up a giant bag o onions.

All you can do is be supportive, tell her you love her. She sounds like a trooper. If you have a doc contact , see if they can get her some Ondansetron. I have a terrible fucked up back and when I get sick I don't even fight it. I just try to move as little as possible and let the shit get out , it cleans up.

I'll have your wife in my thoughts. Chin up buddy be her rock.
