My grandmother unfortunately is going to need to be on an oxygen machine for the rest of her life

She’s supposed to be on 1L setting on the machine

I’ve adjusted it to this level, this indicates 1L right?

The nurse at the hospital talked about a liquid but there doesn’t seem to be any in the indicator so I’m going off the position of the ball
Should probably call up whatever number you have to check. I assume you can find info online somewhere as well.

A concentrator, with small tanks when leaving the house? My dad had to be put on O2 for a few months at the beginning of the year. The VA had a nurse from a local supply company come to the house to set everything up and walk he and my mom through the whole thing. They had to demonstrate that they could use it properly and put up signs about O2 in use at all entrances before he left. He came by for follow ups afterwards to make sure it was being used correctly.

If your grandmother and whoever looks after her didn't get much instruction, as ToeMissile ToeMissile said, there should be a number for the medical supply company somewhere. It's often a sticker right on the machine. That being said, I would agree that that looks like 1L.

TheNozz TheNozz it just occurred to me, maybe the liquid being talked about was a humidifier for the concentrator? You fill it with distilled water to make the airflow less dry.

Looks like that might be a Philips EverFlo, so this might help.

We’ve been monitoring her O2 levels: everything is fine and the machine is working properly

This machine is more of a recirculator than an O2 tank: that one the doctor specifically said only use outdoors and don’t get near the stove.

I found this video where it says you measure from the center of the ball. I am not sure tbh but what you want to google is “how to read an oxygen flow meter” although any of the nurses that post will come along sometime and know exactly how to do it

The middle of the ball intersecting the 1L line is ideal, but as long as somewhere on the ball is intersecting the 1 L line, you're fine. It's basically splitting hairs.

It's best to be at eye level with the meter to avoid parallax.

I took on a new job a while back, the kind where you don't have fixed hours since its at least 10 hours of overtime weekly.

Coming from halftime employment in summer and otherwise 4/5th system is taxing.

I love the job, its going well and I'm very motivated. Unlike my past job it is challenging and I get to do my own thing.

This has been very benificial for my health, I have more energy and less stress.

Never guessed the impact would be so positive.

I get those unless I take a couple of potassium per day.

B12 is fine. It's more likely low Potassium. Low Magnesium. Or clots from sitting down too much. Eat a banana. Lick a supercar. Be more monkeylike.

Magnesium 1.9mg/dL Normal range: 1.5 - 2.5 mg/dL
i eat a banana most days. didn't see potassium in the results i got so far, she said one would take a little while to get results.

also i have started getting fasciculation in both legs. oddly started after taking week long break from daily walking. leg cramps started weeks before this and might not be related. fasciculations happen a lot and can last for 5 -15 mins.

When I was really pushing myself earlier this year, walking 15-18k steps a day - my calfs would do that. Ive been taking supplements the entire time, and they load me down with everything the body needs in the vein of thought. Now that I dont walk that much, and Im not on the stair stepper that often - it doesnt happen at all. So probably just over worked, tbh.
