The odd thing is I really don't have any new aches and pains. It's all stuff I have had in the past. Like my shoulder that I had bursitis in hurts other such stuff.

I sneezed the other day and it smelled like an infection. I've had several thru the years. But my white count was normal. I don't know if fungal infections affect that the same way.

You'd still have elevated white with a fungal infection. It's just a different type of white blood cell better specialized for fungus.

At least, you should.

But with a depressed immune system and thrush -- I guess it is possible that you don't. Unfortunately the body is less adept at dealing with fungal infections than bacterial ones. But I mean a lot of things are possible, I'm not saying anything more than I'm saying.

Still. It's odd. I've never smelled an infection in myself. I can feel them in my eyes, and sometimes "in my bones" so to speak, before anything presents, but i've never actually smelled one.

I used to semll it often when I had a sinus infection. Only when you sneeze really hard.

I'm about 400% sure I don't have HIV if that's what you are hinting at. I am tested at every doctor I have been to for the last 18 months. They always throw that in there for whatever reason.

You become immune suppressed when you're on a lot of antibiotics. I don't think anyone here is suggesting that you have HIV, lol.

Yeah I know, but he said that's all I'm going to say like he was holding something back.

Oh, no, not at all. It's completely irresponsible to speculate too much about specifics. Because I have no idea, can't have any good idea, and this is important. That's all I meant about it.

lol, no... the antibiotics and the steroids could be responsible for immune suppression. I wasn't thinking about HIV.

And I just find it interesting the different ways that different people are able to identify infection within themselves. I haven't heard "smell" very often. So that's interesting to me and odd.

PERHAPS THE LADY DOTH PROTEST TOO MUCH? Anything you wanna tell us, Charlie?!?!?

Sorry. In the last 24 months I've been to approximately 18 doctors and they all have ordered a HIV test. I guess nowdays they can't do any blood work without testing for it. After a while you start to think it's just a scam for more money.

Well, I wouldn't take that personally. They wanna make sure it isn't, and it's pretty easy to make sure it isn't.

Of course... one blood test every 6 months should be plenty to make sure that it isn't. So... having 18 doctors order the exact same test is... well, doctors gonna doctor.

That sucks, you gonna pass them or have them done with ultrasound whatever they call it.

Probably morphine or dilaudid to let them pass. I guess they could do lithotripsy if it was big enough.

Examine your diet. There are different types, but those stones are nothing but rocksalt.

Calcium stones

Most kidney stones are made of calcium compounds, especially calcium oxalate. Calcium phosphate and other minerals also may be present. Conditions that cause high calcium levels in the body, such as hyperparathyroidism, increase the risk of calcium stones. High levels of oxalate also increase the risk for calcium stones.

Certain medicines may prevent calcium stones.
Uric acid stones

Some kidney stones are made of uric acid, a waste product normally passed out of the body in the urine. You are more likely to have uric acid stones if you have:

Low urine output.
A diet high in animal protein, such as red meat.
An increase in how much alcohol you drink.
Gout.
Inflammatory bowel disease.

Certain medicines may prevent or dissolve uric acid stones.

You could even figure out what type of stone you have if you keep it after it passes, go get a basic kids microscope, and just take a look at it. They form different patterns of crystal.

Sorry bro. I feel for you. Kidney Stones are pure evil. If anyone ever was looking for proof that Satan exists one only has to look at kidney stones for the answer.

You know the drill. Just keep up with your liquids and pray that it finishes the "magical journey" quickly. The worst part is if it doesn't drop into the bladder by nighttime. I found that it is impossible to sleep with a stone.

it hit me on thursday, is still making its way through. judging based on where the pain is i think its in my left ureter at the moment. thankfully i don't think its obstructing the flow of fluids from my kidney to my bladder, tho... i assume i would be feeling quite a bit more pain and pressure in my kidney if the stone was actually obstructing. sleep hasn't been a problem with the aid of this old flexeril prescription.

My aunt had to get flown back to USA from India. She's a type 1 diabetic and picked up some crazy infection that they aren't even sure what it is. They're performing a battery of tests now but meanwhile she's also in diabetic keto acidosis.

Hoping she pulls through but that is scary stuff.

Sorry to hear, sounds like a house episode.
Do they do medical attention on the flight? That would be awful to be on a 16 hour flight writhing.
