Ive been screwing around with different Priest decks trying to get these last 50 wins till golden, have been running Entomb, Reno, even a Mech deck.... but this latest is so far the most fun I've had yet.

After 5 games I'm 4-1 and my 1 loss was to a hunter where I misplayed into Freezing trap terribly. I easily would have won if I sequenced correctly.

Final board vs a Secret Paladin:

rrr_img_120025.jpg

Taunt, Taunt, Taunt!
Museum Curator is great for getting multiple Feugen/Stallags, or more Belchers/Deathlords. In the screenshot above I took a Sneeds since it didn't matter anymore.

Eerie Statue has been awesome. It's traded against Dr. Boom, Shredders, Savannah Highmane, etc.

Dream sequence is:
Turns 1-4: Do typical Priest things:
Draw Cards / use curator / use Auchenai+Circle for board clear / drop sunfury for tempo / drop deathlord for delaying

Turn 5: Belcher (probably gets silenced)
Turn 6: Statue + Sunfury for a 3/5 & 7/7 taunt
Turn 7+: Win games.

Matchups:
Against Control you can try for the Elise Dream
Against Murloc Paladin you should save taunts for right before he plays his Anyfin. If you only have 1 taunt, let him play anyfin 1x, clear board with your stuff, then taunt up so he can't OTK you with the 2nd copy.
Against Aggro you just want to clear aggressively early until you can start dropping taunts every turn, if you get an Auch or Circle on the draw, try to mull for the 2nd part of combo.

Board clears are key for giving aggro decks haircuts until you can take control with Taunts later on. You can either dig for the Auch/Circle combo or keep a Northshire Cleric and try to trick a Holy Nova out. Deathlords are great if they don't have owls. Sucks against Druids and Tempo though. I took out one Entomb and put in a late threat of some sort to at least threaten midrange tempo decks. I guess Fuegen and the Eerie Statues might draw out a Big Game Hunter so you can probably go hog wild with whatever big fat Legendary you want. Boom, Ragnaros, Nefarian, whatevs!

Oh and Wobbling Runts can be gotten from Museum Curator and is a decent combo with Sunfury or Argus. Turns it into a pseudo-Deathlord, only with a good deathrattle instead of a bad one. Expensive card though.

I could use some priest tips. I'm not a very experienced priest player. I started messing around yesterday with a pretty standard entomb, deathlord, lightbomb deck. I'm getting run over by tempo mages. Everytime I play a t3 Deathlord, they have flame cannon, hero power, and minion and he's dead on the same turn he's played. Then I'm stuck with northshire clerics, power word shields and nothing to play. Should I have put out a T1 northsire even though a mage could easily remove it without me having drawn any cards? I've maybe played 5 priest games and 3 have been mages who have been able to remove deathlord on same turn I play it. Should I just concede at that point? Is it just a shitty match up or what am I doing wrong? I'm all too often finding myself with hands like northshire, pws, and circle of healing, so I end up doing nothing and getting overwhelmed. Maybe it's just been unlucky mulligans... IDK. It's annoying that every single mage I play has flamecannon in hand and is able to kill my Deathlord immediately, so I never get the chance to play northshire and start healing him. Stops me dead in my tracks.

Edit: Oh yeah, if I have sunfury protector and nothing else to play, should I just play him out even without anything to taunt?

mages are annoying as fuck and fortunately I havent had to play vs one yet today. I've had a poor win rate vs them with standard entomb. It's probably a 30-70 split for me on that matcup. If I have cleric+PWS in hand Ill play both turn 2, that's a 5 health cleric which shouldnt be easily dealt with, then you can deathlord turn 3.

I had a Dark Peddler yesterday where my best choices were Dragon Egg and that shit card that becomes a 6/6 if you have 6 minions already on the board.

My Entomb Priest's highest cost minion is Sylvanas. Museum Curator usually gives me something good though.
6/6 with 6 is a decent card if youre running current zoo.

Second tempo mage in a row. Dead on turn 7. I can list a turn by turn to see if I'm doing anything wrong, but don't think I did that game. Just getting completely steam-rolled.

I really want to have some fun with this deck, but 0-3 (admittedly a very small sample) atm with it. Dead on T6 by aggro shaman who developed a big overloaded elemental. I had 2 Auchs, but not circle. Lightbomb on T6 was too little, too late. In the meta that I'm seeing, it needs more early game. Wild Pyro's and Shadow Word Pains maybe.

You cursed me! I just ran into a Tempo mage, but I won the match (with deck above).

Some of my key turns were:
Starting out turns 1-3 with Coin+Curator+Curator+Sunfury.
Played Eerie Statue into Mirror Entity
Played lots of taunts and had a massive 7 minion clear with Lightbomb.
Game went to Fatigue, he ran out of cards first.
Im 9-3 with the above deck now... (1 loss should have been a win, but i misplay)

---------------------

Next game was vs a Druid and is so far the most fun with above deck:

Stalagg already died earlier, dropped 2x Feugen (got 1 from curator obviously).
He also played 2x Keepers already so I know he has no more silence.

He plays Dr. Boom so I trade into it. I took a Beast from 2nd Curator for the lols.

Yeah tempo mage isn't a great matchup for priest. I do love seeing mirror entity when I'm playing anyfin though. Thanks for the extra combo piece bro!!!

Played 3 games with your deck. Lost the first two against back to back Secret Paladins. Just couldn't get stabilized fast enough before getting run over. Nothing can slow down a secret paladin.

Last game was against a weird druid. He had double combo but he was playing Ancient Watchers and lots of Silences. He wasted a silence on a Darnassus and used another on my first Stalagg. The second got me a Thaddius and he was forced to burn a Force + Roar combo to clear it. I entombed a Boom and an Ancient of Lore. I eventually got Monkey in hand but he conceded before I could play it.

I thought the brawl was kinda fun this week. Still not going to play more than 1, but fun nonetheless. This week rewards a card back instead of a pack.

this brawl is fun if you don't get placed against people who made a deck that would drag the game out for so long that both players are just recasting snowball

My opponent was a Warrior. I had a 1 cost Shield Maiden, 3 cost Grommish and a 5 cost Varian. I had no problems winning that one.

You must have had a seriously bad hand, I've only played 2 secret paladins in ~13 games but won both easily. The last match I actually had an emergency and missed 2 turns. When I came back he had 6 minions on board which included Boom & Tirion. I dropped Belcher+Deathlord which softened everything up, including taking out Tirion's Divine Shield. He was also greedy and played Mysterious Challenger. Next turn I Lightbomb taking out all his big targets. Many taunts later I stabilize and he concedes.

Trying this deck out I played two games, both games I got the golden monkey, both games it cost me the game... I just don't think elise is worth it at all, the first one I played elise turn 4 map turn 5 and monkey turn 6 and the guy beat me with thaurissan, boom and sneeds alone for maximum irony.

I think that to use elise properly you have to be so in control that you most likely would've won the game anyway.

ehhhhhhhhhhh, dont play monkey turn 6 lol. Yea, you need to get board under control first, and you probably never want to do it before turn 10 still. When I've done Monkey it's won me the game 2x now and both were against very late game control decks.
