It's Un'Goro Eve!

Trump did a card rating video:

-----------
I pretty much agree with almost everything he says except I keep saying Jades will be OP and he is of the opposite opinion. I also rated Paladin higher on my initial prediction. We both agree that Warrior, Rogue and Priest are basically trash tier. He's still bullish on Pirate warrior though.
-----------

His ratings are based on what will actually be seen in the upcoming meta, which is different than just saying good/bad as some 1 stars can be good in a different meta.

I've listed his ratings below:

★: No play
★★: Light Play/Tech Choice
★★★: Worst card in a playable deck, still sees play
★★★★: Good cards
★★★★★: In a lot of decks or in best decks
-----------
DRUID:
Doesn't think Jades will see much play

★★★★
Jungle Giants
Totollan Forager
Shellshifter
★★★
Elder Longneck
★★
Earthen Scales

Verdant Longneck
Evolving Spores
Living Mana
Giant Anaconda
Tyrantus

HUNTER:
Quest is insane, can have it done by turn six 66% of the time

★★★★★
The Marsh Queen
Jeweled Macaw
Crackling Razormaw
Raptor Hatchling
Tol'vir Warden
★★★★
Stampede
★★★
Terrorscale Stalker
Swamp King Dred
★★
Grievous Bite

Dinomancy

MAGE:
Quest is gimmicky, Elementals might see play

★★★★
Steam Surger
★★★
Arcanologist
Pyros
★★
Open the Waygate
Primordial Glyph
Meteor

Shimmering Tempest
Flame Geyser
Mana Bind
Molten Reflection

PALADIN:
Doesn't think Quest Paladin is feasible but mid-range might work

★★★
Lost in the Jungle
Hydrologist
Spikeridged Steed
★★
Sunkeeper Tarim

The Last Kaleidosaur
Adaptation
Lightfused Stegodon
Vinecleaver
Primalfin Champion
Dinosize

PRIEST:
Priest is bad & won't see any play

Awaken the Makers
Binding Heal
Radiant Elemental
Tortollan Shellraiser
Crystalline Oracle
Mirage Caller
Free from Amber
Shadow Visions
Curious Glimmerroot
Lyra the Sunshard

ROGUE:
Water Rogue seems to be the only viable deck
★★
Mimic Pod

The Caverns Below
Hallucination
Razorpetal Volley
Razorpetal Lasher
Envenom Weapon
Obsidian Shard
Biteweed
Vilespine Slayer
Sherazin, Corpse Flower

SHAMAN:
Thinks both Murloc & Elemental Shaman will see play

★★★★★
Kalimos, Primal Lord
★★★★
Unite the Murlocs
Hot Spring Guardian
Primalfin Totem
★★★
Stone Sentinel
★★
Volcano

Air Elemental
Tidal Surge
Fire Plume Harbinger
Spirit Echo

WARLOCK:
Probably see two different decks: Discardlock & Lakkari Sacrifice decks. Lakkari Sacrifice is more a late game deck and likely won't make the aggro version.

★★★★★
Lakkari Sacrifice
Clutchmother Zavas
★★★★
Lakkari Felhound
★★
Ravenous Pterrordax
Corrupting Mist
Chittering Tunneler

Tar Lurker
Feeding Time
Cruel Dinomancer
Bloodbloom

WARRIOR:
Doesn't think Taunt or Control warrior will be good. Pirate warrior will still survive.

Fire Plume's Heart
Iron Hide
Ornery Direhorn
Tar Lord
Molten Blade
Cornered Sentry
Direhorn Hatchling
Explore Un'Goro
Sudden Genesis
King Mosh
-------------------------
NEUTRALS:
★★★★★
Fire Fly
Ravasaur Runt
Tar Creeper
Igneous Elemental
Humongous Razorleaf : Thinks Handlock will be tier 1 deck again because of this
Tol'vir Stoneshaper
Servant of Kalimos : Shaman can discover lots of great elementals, including their Legendary
Bittertide Hydra : Can fit in many decks including Pirate warrior
Blazecaller
★★★★
Golakka Crawler : Pirates will still see play, or at least the Patches package
Devilsaur Egg : Zoo will play
Gentle Megasaur : Will see play in murlocs but more importantly the Water Package decks
Elise the Trailblazer : Can see play anywhere, specifically control decks
★★★
Glacial Shard
Rockpool Hunter
Primalfin Lookout
Giant Wasp : Seems good for beast Druid and maybe Rogue, perhaps others
Gluttonous Ooze
Hemet, Jungle Hunter : Thinks there are some possibilities.
★★
Fire Plume Phoenix
Emerald Hive Queen
Bright-Eyed Scout
Primordial Drake

Emerald Reaver
Stubborn Gastropod
Volatile Elemental
Thunder Lizard
Eggnapper
Pterrordax Hatchling
Stegodon

Stormwatcher
Sated Threshadon
Giant Mastodon
Ultrasaur
Vicious Fledgling
Stonehill Defender
Frozen Crusher
Volcanosaur
Tortollan Primalist
Charged Devilsaur
The Voraxx : Only because buff paladin doesn't seem strong
Spiritsinger Umbra : Because Priest seems bad

Wait a minute. Trump thinks Razorleaf is gonna bring back handlock without reno, healbot, or moltens?

I think I'm with Kripp on evaluating the Mage Quest. The quest itself isn't THAT hard to do (although perhaps the slowest of them all, which is irrelevant in the context of the reward), and even though my initial reaction to the reward is "meh", it's just always proven to be an insane mechanic (taking another turn) in every other CCG, even with huge drawbacks. The drawback here is you only have 5 mana for one of those 2 turns, that's not that rough frankly.

Now, I'm not saying that quest alone will make Mage top dog, but I think that card could warp the control meta as much as or more than Jade Druids.

Edit: Ok so what you're saying is that you never played Hearthstone before GvG came out.

:D

I'm very surprised myself, so surprised I had to find his theorycraft deck:
Trump's Un'Goro Theorycraft - Handlock
I guess I could see it kinda working but I don't know about Tier 1 and also no Moltens is still huge.

It does seem like people are forgetting that Whispers isn't rotating. There's no way C'thun doesn't make some sort of a comeback, even if it doesn't last.

Looking at the shitty Ungoro cards, C'thun will probably be the best list for warrior and priest, I doubt rogue can make it work without reno though.

I'm just amused that the Mage Quest reward is literally the same card from Magic the Gathering, name, effect, and converted mana cost.

Yea C'Thun does look really good again but only downside I see is no Brann for the 20 armor or 3x C'thun's, which was pretty much their win condition.

That's really not true though. Control warrior only shifted into that ultra late game slow as balls shit because of how powerful Justicar was for warrior. Without Justicar you'll have to go back to the pre-TGT days of actually running finishers in your deck.

I mean that's another thing people seem to be forgetting, control warrior was a very successful archetype before Justicar. It definitely hurts that control warrior doesn't gain a single thing from Un'goro though.

I mean, it was a very successful archetype in a very different game. People bitching about aggro getting turn 7 kills, vs turn 4. Not that it can't be successful again, but I don't think it's positioned the same as it was before Justicar.

Sure, but Justicar didn't keep you from getting ran over by aggro, it helped put you out of reach once you stabilized.

Still haven't gotten newest golden dustbait. New brawl was a easy way to get one more pack though.

Even if C'thun is unfavorable against jade druid, if jade druid is bad against the rest of the meta then there won't be a lot of jade druid.

This is like Metagame 098 stuff.

Sad to see a classic pack as the reward again. I think jade druid will be slower and I'm still shocked they left auctioneer around.

I think it's silly to think Jade Druid won't be strong. They are losing the least amount of key cards but there are replacements available.
Roots/Mulch, can replace with the 2/3 1-drop & 3 drop wasp or a number of other things.

Jade Druid is seeing play in the fastest meta ever to exist... to think it won't exist in a slower meta is just silly. And this is where I think Trump is sorely lacking in his analysis.

However, just because Jade Druid exists doesn't mean a control Warrior can't work. Like I said the other day, the current meta is very unfavorable to Control Warrior, namely because Jaraxxus, Jades, & Drakonid Operative.

If all Warrior needs to worry about are Jades in the upcoming meta then great.

Hated this brawl. It should be every creature not a random occasional creature gets the ability.
