Artosis played with decks made by/with ek0p and max.Speaking of ekop, it would have been fun to see him in this.

All card games have that luck of the draw element, but M:TG has much more room for skill and strategy because the game is so complex compared to Hearthstone. HS has so few moving parts, so to speak, that there's just not very much that can be affected by player skill. Blizzard basically took M:TG and removed almost all the mechanics, card types and play phases, which has resulted in a game where luck is the deciding factor almost every time. Once in a while you'll see a match where it's genuinely a matter of who's the better player, but that's so rare compared to the matches where the winner is unequivocally determined by sheer luck. That wasn't anywhere near as common in M:TG because there were so many ways you could affect the game whereas HS is so mechanically primitive that luck dominates it all.Yeah the RNG factor is pretty high with this game. Kripp got fucked twice in the finals and Artosis got fucked once... not really surprising it turned out the way it did. Does MTG play out mostly the same way?
Yeah, I just watched a video of Kripp being interviewed yesterday and the guy asked him what he thinks HS needs to be a good competitive/esport game. His answer was basically just keep adding more cards and more dynamics which is pretty much in agreement with what you're saying and makes sense. All card games have that luck of the draw element, but M:TG has much more room for skill and strategy because the game is so complex compared to Hearthstone. MtG has some crazy luck sometimes. I was playing online earlier today, got really lucky on my initial creatures, got a couple of 2/2's on the board right away, and just start chipping away at him. He kept only getting 1/1's so even if he blocked I would still take out his creatures. The score got to 20 to 5 within a few minutes, at this point neither of us had any creatures, I had no creatures to play kept just drawing lands. Not any more luck based than any other ccg. Somehow Hearthstone is too random, compared to watching players have to mull to 5 all the time over land screw in MtG.

Your game of MTG sounds like it came straight out of a basic starter deck for JUNIOR retards in 1996.MtG has some crazy luck sometimes. This motherfucker pulls out 9/9 creature without summoning sickness. His next card he pulled was a 6/6. I was quickly raped, and the entire time I was convinced this one was in the bag.
I literally bought the game yesterday, I haven't unlocked much of shit.Your game of MTG sounds like it came straight out of a basic starter deck for JUNIOR retards in 1996.
Duels of the Planeswalkers? Neat interface but it's really not representative of the actual game.I literally bought the game yesterday, I haven't unlocked much of shit.
Such a close match.World of Warcraft - BlizzCon Hearthstone Innkeepers Invitational - Twitch
Seems to have all the semi finals/finals that were streamed on twitch, only watched a few matches so far.
Even if you do play it "technically perfect" You can not know for sure if what you did was the correct move or not unless you know what is in your opponent's hand. Playing your hand technically perfect is one thing, but it is another thing entirely playing the board perfectly since you can decide if you want to attack minions or your opponent's hero. Example being earlier when someone said they would have traded with the water elemental in Artosis' position. The safe play is to trade with the water elemental because you do not what kind of removal your opponent has in their hand. You go to their face and they use a card from their hand to remove it next turn, well now you don't have a minion while theirs is still on the board when you had the chance to remove it. It worked out for artosis in the end, but in his position you can't say one way or the other this is the absolute correct way to play. It's very easy to play Hearthstone technically perfect. These players fucking up on screen are making what would be considered beginner mistakes in MTG. Professionally MTG players do screw up occasionally, but that's because the actual board states and number of possible plays can be many orders of magnitude more complex.
