I've said I was done with this game so many times, yet I'm going back for another game just hours later. I've raged against this game like none other. Just when you think you're hot shit for winning 10x in a row then you lose 10x in a row and remember the game is largely rng based.

I only use hearth arena when its a toss up between 2 or 3 cards and I don't know what to pick. Otherwise I find in most cases I *THINK* I know what the best card would be and it just wastes my time inputting them all into the site. Maybe my lack of success shows i'm wrong though, dunno.
Picks cannot be made outside of context. Silver Hand Knight or Gilblin Stalker? Your existing curve and how many picks you have left will likely tell you which is better.

Get to rank 9 with handlock and finally craft Jarraxus. I'll be unstoppable now! Fall to rank 11. Just how it goes in the stones.

I've found my travels to single digit ranks this season is very favourable to control warrior.

What are people using for Heroic Maloriak? The other 3 where all first try, that ones a pain in the dick though.

Edit: NM, I got it with a slightly modified Zoo deck

I dunno I think they need to consider reducing prices of previous sets as they add new ones. This game just doesn't make me want to blow as much money as I need to make decent decks.
I agree. I have played on and off for about 6 months. I have two of most commons, one of most rares, 1 or 2 of about haalf of the epics. I was insanely lucky with classic packs from arena and maybe 30 dollars. For classic, I've opened 6 legendaries - Rag, The Black Knight, Bloodmage, Geddon, Van Queef and The Beast, which I dusted. I crafted Sylvanas and Greenskin (I know, but I was new and play Rogue and Priest exclusively).

The problem is I've been less lucky with GvG. I have opened Trade Prince and Gazlowe and crafted Boom. I have also gotten fewer epics. So I am stuck with doing arena for GvG cards and using excess dust to craft Classic cards. It's agonizingly slow. I still have no Faceless Manipulators and no BGH. I also want Malygos, Jones, Alex, Ysera, Cho, Cairne and most vanilla class legenaries so that I might be able to force myself to branch out.

I know a few of those are of dubious utility in comparison to some of the GvG legendaries I lack, but I prioritize them for two reasons. First and primarily, literally 100% of the fun in this game for me is making effective decks that are fun as hell and are not ripped from the internet. Second, I can still theoretically open the gvg cards rom arena.

But this is so fucking slow it's driving me mad.

Been trying to practice a bit with Oil Rogue. I've read that I'm supposed to beat Druids, but am struggling with them and their constant stream of large minions. Is this just a tough match-up, or is it my play that's lacking? Like I said, I've read that Druid is supposed to be favorable match-up, but I am just not seeing it. Any tips would be appreciated.

I feel like this Heroic set was the weakest yet. Nefarian took me the most tries, used a Handlock deck with some demons and it was pretty easy once I timed when to use Jaraxxus/Mal'Ganis.
I basically milled him with unlimited infernals as Jaraxxus then used Mal'Ganis after the board clear to prevent fatique damage to myself while still pumping infernals.

Eh, it's a matter of you being able to disrupt their play. It's not 'you are supposed to beat Druid' on the scale of the way Oil Rogue destroys Paladin, but the strength of midrange druid is the fact that it takes control of the board and never lets up. Midrange druid has a terrible time recovering if you disrupt their curve and get ahead of them on the board, and Oil rogue is pretty good at stealing the board away.

Watched some streams, got excited to do an arena run... Load her up... Mage, awesome, this should be great. Zero Frostbolts, Zero Water Eles, Zero Poly, Zero Flamestrike, One Fireball, Two Blastmage, and no other mechs.

This game is so fucking frustrating.

Thanks for the response. Seems similar to other match-ups in the sense that a good mulligan with backstabs, deadly poisions, eviscerates, etc. will go a long way towards victory (with the opposite also being true). I'm not a very experienced rogue player, so am trying to figure this out as I go.

Edit: Taking it on the chin a bit as I learn and practice. Have fallen from rank 8 to 10 (not that it matters).

In general, don't pick a card that requires synergy with the expectation that you'll find that synergy card. i.e. don't pick Blastmage if you don't already have Mechs in your deck.

Just a heads-up for those of you around ranks 8-10... 4 of my 8 matches this afternoon have been against Druids. A couple were more control than midrange cause they played Ancients of War.

Blastmage become Lost Tallstrider in that instance, so not a bad pick, especially if he needed four drops.

Blastmage is too good to pass up. It's just slightly worse than average for a 4 drop if you don't get the battlecry, and can singlehandedly win you an arena game if you do get it.

Did I ever tell you about the game where this guy got all Timer Rewinder spare parts, and dropped four Blast Mages on me?

The salt was flowing.
