The example wasn't supposed to be something that would be vital to playing arena well. It was an example something someone who's played a lot of arena would know off the top of their head. A byproduct, so to speak, of being able to play at a high level and chain arenas.

I'm not sure drafting is the problem. There are websites to help with that, I use one. And since there's no time limit on drafting, the learning curve is much shorter. But, this was my last draft, what would you have chosen differently?

Hearth Arena - Beyond the Tier List

I know about favorable trades, trading 2 for 1, controlling the board, etc. I consider that basics to intermediate. What I want is the instinct that even though Dark Iron Dwarfing your Haunted Creeper so it trades into a 2/3 is an awesome play, it's probably the wrong play on turn 4 versus a druid.

There are, supposedly, people that play arena infinitely. That's what I want. I'm tired of scheduling my arena runs for when the competition is softer. Yeah, I get to play more because I get more wins, but I learn nothing from the idiot hunter that plays a tundra rhino and core hound the next turn and then passes. I didn't beat him, he beat himself.

I'm at the point where I need to just to play the game continuously to make gains. Draft a shitty/ok/good/excellent and see what intricacies can be teased of out cards you'll never see in constructed. You'll never see Neru'bar Weblord in constructed. Pretty sure he won me a game in the above link. Also lost me one because I fucked up and played him first and locked out the subsequent card.
Early in the game I dropped like $20 into my account so that I could get a lot of drafting experience over the course of 2 weeks. Pretty much from that point on, I have been infinite. Sure, I've had times where my gold starts going down, but over the long haul, I am infinite and have only gotten better and better to where my average in arena is nearing 8 wins. I think it's highly beneficial to put some cash into it early on if you're interested in arenas and interested in getting good at it and going infinite. Otherwise, yeah, it has gotta be super tough to get better when you can only play an arena every other day or so. Most week days I end up doing 3 or 4 drafts per day. My collection is superb, entirely from arena and one amazon deal that I actually ended up paying $0 for. But fuck me, the barrier of entry now must really suck, and I sympathize.

Opened up another Dr. Boom before the servers went down. *fingers crossed*

Priest opponent plays cabal, steals my bloodmage. Next round plays soulpriest... and circles.

Several rounds later he plays 2nd soulpriest. I frost nova. He... heals himself.

I've seen people mess themselves up by circling when they have that spellpower buff on a creature, but that's impressive.

welp. Hunter aggro is still the biggest faggot deck around. Kangs don't even hold on to cards. They literally dump their hand asap.

Start an account in another region and alternate between the two. I had the problem of running out of gold when I started playing so I made an EU account and never had to worry about it again. Right now I have about 7k gold on EU and 4k on US having played arena almost exclusively (about 1.5k and 3k wins).

You could also have someone spectate and give input on plays if you think that might help.

I must say I've learned a lot about tcgs in the past 10 months. I played some MTG back in the day but had no real clue what I was doing. When I first started playing hs I would just go face if I had the opportunity. I wouldn't hold onto cards for removals. If I had a fireball and four mana, that shit was going face.

Thanks, that's a good idea. I'm consider Morrow's idea of putting some money in my account too. But, why a separate region? Why not just play in the same region with two accounts?

I have two accounts in the same region and it works just fine. Allows me to draft infinitely for free because you have 2 dailies instead of 1. He is probably saying use a different region so that if the first one is down, you might be able to get online with the other.

That was weird, last night my first 5 games were priests. Ended with 7/10 being priests.

I have opened a grand total of 5 GvG legendaries, and 2 of them were fucking dupes of legendaries I fucking crafted. First one was Sneed's, second one was Dr Boom. If I open a duplicate Mal'Ganis I'm going to be furious.

Also, I'm really fucking hoping Dr Boom gets nerfed in some way, but it seems unlikely.

Yeah, I have like 7 or 8 gvg legendaries, I crafted 5 of them, I've opened about 12 gvg legendaries. Was due for a legendary and just got a second mimiron's head the other day.

There's been versions of it since at least Crackle though. Probably not really before that I would have to assume unless you were just playing for fun. Crackle made it slightly more viable. I don't know that Lava Shock adds much to it
