Seems to happen a ton in big tournaments recently. Especially with decks like Patron - the client won't let you do shit until ALL the animations are finished so players severely underestimate how long it's going to take to finish their play.

So I'm experimenting with both dragon warrior and conventional wallet warrior without Thaurissan. I don't think he's a 'stick this in every single midrange or slower' kind of card. He belongs in decks with either robust draw engines (handlock, oil rogue, or patron warrior), decks that rely on heavy swing turns to take control of the board (oil rogue, flamewaker) or decks with a combo heavy finish (freeze mage, patron warrior). If you aren't playing one of those types of decks, I don't think Thaurissan is better than other 6 drop options.

Yeah I think that's been clear for a bit now after the early days when people were calling it super OP and sticking it in every single mid or late game deck. It can do ok in druid as well but I personally would rather have a second Force or have a slot to add Ragnaros/Cenarius/Sylvanas depending on what the meta's looking like. Maybe even Black Knight though probably not at the moment. A lot of people only want to run one Force though so it can fit that way. But druid isn't in a great place right now anyway, lots of decks on the ladder that it doesn't match up too well with IMO.

It is a super op card, and I will be a bit surprised if it doesn't get nerfed. I've been in so many games where either I or the other guy won the turn after playing Thaurissan because of the discount.

Also this just happened. Probably a mistake but it was funny so I did it.

*edit*

Turns out I won the game in early fatigue, even after I had to bait a mind control with grom and eat 10 to the face so I could get Ysera to stick. Shadow Form actually ended up working out better than armor up I think.

Nefarian definitely seems better than expected, though not too gamebreaking. Kind of like how people thought Unstable Portal would be largely garbage but its pretty solid. I'd say when you get a shadowform on a different class you just have to say fuck it and have some fun.

I don't think emp is OP but he's definitely powerful. He's like another Sylvanas but with a crazy potential upside if he stays, even if you only get one turn out of it he makes your opponent do awkward off-script shit to get rid of it.

Yeah, just had a freeze mage go 'antonidas fireball coin frostbolt icelance icelance' in a single turn. Anyone who thinks Thaurissan isn't the most powerful card in the whole game is crazy.

Does it need nerfed? I don't know, but it's definitely more powerful than stuff that has been nerfed in the past.

ymmv but I've played with and without thor in a bunch of decks, and only in freeze does it feel really powerful and generally only when you can get the ice lance combo or the alex to ice block to 15 point combo next turn. Outside of freeze it seems like pretty much a novelty and as I heard someone describe it, a "win faster" card i.e. it won't help you win, when you're already winning it makes for fun combos and thats about it.

Eh, Thaurissan is the stone cold tits in patron too. It's not just about comboing sooner, it's about a bigger combo, and that bigger combo may be the difference between winning and losing. Being able to add free whirlwinds and toss in a frothing berserker to a warsong-patron turn can change the combo from an I win if you can't answer this board to I win right now and you can't do anything.

I probably could have dealt with that freeze mage getting a pair of free fireballs off of antonidas and maybe still won. I had no chance to come back from him clearing my board, getting 5 free fireballs, and still having Antonidas in play.

Pulled another Dr Boom and dusted him. Have 1100 dust total now, Ragnaros might come earlier than expected.

I put Nefarian in my Control Warrior today and he's definitely won me some games. It felt pretty good using Lay on Hands against a Paladin on what would have been basically an armor pass turn to not over extend on the board, which easily won me the game.

Sometimes this game Is really harsh.

Had Ragnaros and Majordomo on the board, it looked good...Priest mind controls Ragnaros, kills my Majordomo which turns me into Ragnaros with 8 Life...and my Ragnaros kills me.

A few games later, I'm playing with Feugan and Stallag...one had died earlier, the other get stolen by Sylvanas...then he kills it and he's the one that gets Thaddeus and he kills me the next turn.

After that, I thought it would be a good time to stop.

Is it me, or has Face Hunter's power diminished a bit since the expansion? I see a lot of Warrior decks made to out last them. Pretty interesting.

Hunter in general is still one of the strongest classes. Its probably War/Lock/Hunter right now, maybe in that order. There's the hybrid versions and plenty of midrange and still face hunters too. The potential of facehunter will always be there if the meta forgets about it too long it will have prime opportunities to roll people again. Control war has always been capable of outlasting hunter and patron war is pretty much fucking up everyone.

Im finding control warrior a lot rougher on ladder at the minute, not sure why. I remember doing well with it last month after the reset, but this time it hasn't been going so well. I tried the list with nefarian, ysera and a revenge but didn't seem to do so well.

I'm trying to pick a deck for laddering, toss up between druid, oil rogue and flamewaker. Oil rogue would feel strong if I knew what the fuck I was doing, and I think it does pretty well against aggro/patron? I like control warrior the most, maybe I need to change the decklist a bit.

Do a faster deck to get some ranks early then you can switch to control warrior once you're more ahead of the pack. Flamewalker mage sounds pretty good to get some stars.

I've been running a non flamewaker tempo (working on gold mage) which got me to r6 last season. might try to switch out for flamewakers... I'd prob have to drop sylv and thaurissan. Anyway, I didn't have too many problems climbing the ladder with it, so I'd recommend it. Starting having issues around 8/9 or so.

Facehunter is getting good again because it has favorable matchups against most of the best decks in the format. Favored against handlock, hybrid hunter, and oil rogue. Weak against patron (and all forms of warrior) but those are the breaks.

Was it mad sci that made hunter popular? When I first started playing I don't recall seeing much hunter.
