There's a reason Lion's Eye is 85 bucks a piece at SCG and out of stock.

Which is why I said stuff like the 1/3 draw dude will likely be part of why if it gets broken it'll work. I understand why LED works, and there's probably not enough draw to make it work YET but eventually no doubt there will be something that someone does with some.

If Astral Communion was a mage card or if Caldara Drake was neutral, I'd be excited about this.

It definitely is a weird card but I think it will see play. Now, how well that will work out I don't know but I'll give Blizz props for putting out a dangerous card at least.

It's either going to be played never after people fuck around with it trying to make it work and failing or it is going to get nerfed fast. Probably the former of course.

casting this would allow you to activate your hero power ~8 times if drake is already in play. 5 times if turn 10 and he isn't in play.

yes, i'm assuming they are following the same text formatting as wild growth, nourish, and innervate. if they randomly changed it away from those with this card, sure... it doesn't give mana. (would be doubly weird, because the new wild growth creature follows the wild growth text)

activate hero power 3 times. (6 mana) cast this. activate 5 more time. moot, since it is a mage card and this is druid.


edit: that is a hell of an edit you had there. depending on class,it would be 8 damage 8 armor in one attack or 8 damage spread across. throw in any new inspire creature and if you don't see the value in that many activations? dunno what to tell you.

Fucking serious, Arena? Plays were basically annoyotron, stupid explodey ghoul, 3 (THREE) Chillwind Yetis, a sea giant and then MC near the end. THANKS OBAMA

For everyday use I don't see Astral Communion a good card. But I'm sure that there will be a gimmick deck built around it. The question is will that gimmick deck be meta warping like Patron Warrior?

Actually a very good card. But it really benefits Face Hunter and Aggro Pally. In fact I think it's great in Aggro Pally since you can buff a Divine Shield Minion with it to help the buff stick.

Wild Growth gives you empty mana crystals, AC gives you full ones. Granted that's pretty much irrelevant since you have to dump your hand, but if you had facelessed a coldarra drake, you could indeed hero power 8 times.

Lance Bearer is only slightly better than mediocre. It's basically a vanilla 3/2, except you can permanently combat trick 2 of its power. Abusive Sergeant is still better.

I mostly agree if we are just comparing the two cards in a void. Abusive is one mana less and has the preferred power/toughness ratio. At the same time, having 4 such effects to use is fairly strong and since you can use both, it should definitely see a decent amount of play. Being a 1/2 for 2 hurts but there are plenty of creatures that could use the permanent buff especially in zoo decks.
