I've done really well in an arena with a similar build, minus the healing. Ancient of Lore especially I found to be extremely good, 7 for 5/5 is pretty meh sure but drawing 2 cards or healing 5 is a fucking great battlecry, if you're dying 5hp is quite a decent amount and if it's late and you're low on cards playing it will draw a decent amount. Also 7 is the right number for a mark of nature on it to make it 5/9 taunt.

And yeah forgot Nourish, might get one but I don't know I find the mana crystals part usually wasted that late so it's really an overpriced draw spell.

Yeah the mana crystal part is worthless and I find it too expensive to run 2 for the card draw, but I could be wrong. Maybe I'm just playing the class incorrectly, but I dunno, I do terribly. I've never played one in arena though. I've also never played Healing Touch, maybe I'll pop a couple into my deck with a little other healing as well. I just find it impossible to gain a tempo or card advantage with Druid. What the class needs is sleep/cyclone type spells to delay. Silence utterly murders druids. Maybe add spellpower and a Gadgetzen Auctioneer?

Draft pick: Sword of Justice vs. Avenging Wrath? Wrath yeah? I was seriously underrating Equality. Never had a chance to pick one properly, but finally got 2 and wow, it's such a fucking game changer even w/o consecrate. So good, specially with Divine Shields.

Sword of justice is possibly the best paladin card you can get. Unless it gets oozed the value is ridiculous, just don't swing it unless you can get a good card. Avenging Wrath is alright but it's nowhere near imo, the sword gives you huge momentum since there's pretty much no way to keep up with a paladin who plays a sword(or worse, coins a sword) if you don't ooze it.

Nourish gives you the 2 mana crystals immediately, so you can Wild Growth for example the same turn if you really want to ramp. I don't think its overcosted either:

Arcane Intellect: cost 3, draw 2
Nourish: cost 5, draw 3 or add 2 mana
Sprint: cost 7, draw 4

It's not overcosted for the card draw. I just think the mana crystals are useless in 95% of situations. Technically it's "3 Mana: Gain 2 Empty Mana Crystals" which is a more efficient Wild Growth, but still. You always feel ripped off on the value since you're already at 4-5 mana crystals. The only situation I think Nourish would rock is if you Coin+Innervate it on turn 2 and gain a huge momentum/advantage. Even better if you can Nourish again on turn 3 and then on turn 4 you have got yourself 8 mana crystals, gg. It costs you too much to waste the mana on turn 5+ and obviously is a huge waste after turn 8, and the value diminishes every turn after 5. 3 Cards for 5 is great though, obviously. I just don't know about running 2 copies.

Oh the crystals are full? Assumed they were empty like Wild Growth, guess it's better then, still too late unless you innervate or coin it though. And I thought it was 2cards too thus inefficient for 5mana, but if it's 3 then it's fine. Would run a single one, kinda like how I love having a single sprint in rogue decks, for when you get to late and you're all out of cards and have nothing better to do anyway.

Yup they're full. And yeah 3 cards, it's definitely efficient. Yeah Sprint is a risky cast, but really good if you can manage it. Nourish is almost the most efficient single cast card draw in the game (Arcane Intellect actually beats it just barely, but imo still not worth running 2 somehow. I can't believe how incorrectly I've been playing Cult Master. dropping it randomly knowing I can get 1 card and hoping for more or hoping it distracts them from a creature I want to save, or hoping they don't kill the taunt and then the Master. You need to save it until you have 3 or so creatures on the board, drop it and suicide them. I don't cast it unless I know I can get a guaranteed 2 cards now. So good now that I play it correctly, usually manage 3+ cards now.

So around rank 14 I ran into 3 Warriors in a row running a variant of ek0p's Warrior deck. I honestly didn't expect anyone running that deck to do well atm. Beat it with Rogue, Priest, and Druid... it doesn't win against anything. Wondering how they got so far up.

Switched over from Mage to Priest because the Mage is almost 58 and I don't want to essentially over-level a class. Priest is soooo bad now. Trying to build an anti-Mage deck and it is... not going well.

Just beat Frozen Giant Mage on the ladder by Spellbreaker silence onto one of my dudes to get in there for the win. Nothing in a ccg feels better than stealing one from the current overpowered deck. It's like getting a win vs an Academy deck in 1999.

Yeah, I've been running Guardian of Kings in my Paladin deck just for the mage decks I've been facing. I've also been toying around with the idea of using Holy Light instead of Noble Sacrifice but get down is just too good.

Ah, the reason the delay mage is all over ladder? Day9 did an episode about it tonight. I started running into something very near his exact deck a lot tonight.

Except Day9 was running a retarded version of it with Abominations.

dunno what you're running zulst, but I'd also recommend Lay on Hands. LOH plus the Guardian of kings runs over mages, and doesn't slow you down TOO much against everything else.

Yeah, I run one Lay on Hands and one Guardian of Kings. Still lose to crazy aggro warlocks and it's about 50/50 with giant mages if I don't draw an equality/consecrate/avenging wrath combo at the right time. Which is mostly all I saw at rank 15 today.

I like the fact that Blizzard did not knee jerk nerf the shit out of all the overly used cards, but how could they not see mages setting in as the near unbeatable meta? The meta seems to shift every couple weeks, especially when someone wins a tournament and posts the decklist. Mages have been the only constant, sitting at a high tier, even before this moronic delay mage style started. Hopefully they patch something a little quicker than their last patch.

Also I have to give a lot of credit to Kripp. He was the first person I heard call this deck out(for being no skill) a few days back on his youtube. Then you have all these "good players" such as Reckful and Day9 going full retard thinking they are teaching people this new strat. Day9 really isn't that great at HS but he has fun doing it at least.

I just got into Hearthstone a few (3 / 2) days ago and I've put so many hours into playing it.

I haven't been read anything on it; forums, specs, discussions, etc. And this is my first.

I'm having a hell of a hard time fighting mages. I swear to god. They really should allow you to ban one class.

The King of the Hill #6 that was just run had two people both run the Giants Mage deck that I play primarily. It lost twice, but there was also a ton of good discussion about the deck during the games by Artosis and DOA. Mages are just hard to beat. I have a weenie Rogue deck and a Warlock deck that can sometimes just push to much damage early game and they lose. If you're just starting out you might want to stick to arena to build up cards and check out Trump and Kripparian's lists for how to value arena cards in drafts. They give their ranking of each card, Trump just for neutrals and Kripp's covers everything.

Also finding Shaman to be surprisingly good if you're very careful planning your turns around overload but (of course) it loses to the Giant Mage pretty hard. That Earth Elemental on turn 5 means you have 3 mana next turn and they can drop a Mountain Giant the turn before or right after, which they can accompany with a handy Frost Nova so they can trade against it with 1 health left on their guy! I really want to play something else, but I also want to rank up and none of my other decks is anywhere near as refined.
