Anyone else laddering with dragon priest? How are you doing? Velen's chosen good yes/no? I can't decide if I like it or not. Sometimes it blows out a hunter when I make a 4/8 wyrmcrest, other times it's a useless card because it eats a silence right away. I'm really, really tempted to just ditch it and the dragonkin sorcerer entirely in favor of trying to run some mass dispels, but playing a 4 mana card that isn't removal or a creature seems really hard to do these days.
I've been climbing sorta steady-ish with it up to rank 8 or so, but I've really run in to a wall of secret paladins that I can't really deal with. Maybe I'm missing something but if they hit challenger on turn 6 I don't really see a way to win it, even from a very strong early board. The only way I've come up with to survive it all is keep any hand with SW: D in it to kill the challenger right away, then hope you had enough of a board out to clear him again + whatever gets the avenge buff.

Paladin has been a tough matchup for my Dragon Priest which means that Priest might not be viable right now based on the meta. Dragon Priest is potentially very strong but with Paladins making up 50% of your opponents you may need to look elsewhere.

It's pretty bad yea, according to my deck tracker I'm 2-11 vs secret paladin. May be time to shelve it for a while I guess. It also doesn't help that even with all the super powered dragon taunts and removal I run I'm still only like 50/50 vs pure face hunter. It always seems like everything is under control and then they break out hoot hoot wolf rider arcane golem to win out of nowhere.

I'm playing dragon priest around rank 9 this season and yeah stomped by paladins mostly. But still enjoying it. I just went to double Velen's, really good card imo. Lots of other stuff gets silenced so doesn't bother me much. Only running 1x shrink and 1x cabal in favor of double technician which helps early game some. And 1 holy smite is indisposible. So pretty solid vs usual hunter/warlock aggro.

Yea I'm back to running 2 Velen's and 2 Dragonkin right now. Down to 1 pyromancer, 1 smite, 1 SW: P but between those and the wyrmcrest and other early game minions I seem to be able to withstand aggro decently. Been running with Nefarion lately as it feels like I need that extra dragon and he seems the best choice out of alex/nefarion/chromaggus/onyxia. Dr.Boom is likely just superior in almost every way, but dropping down to 8 dragons I feel like I miss a lot more turn 4 twilight guardians.
I really want to try out Vol'jin but I don't have him and I'm not convinced he's worth the 1600 to craft right now. Played around with Justicar Trueheart a bit in the 6 slot, but the upgraded priest power feels really underwhelming outside a fatigue match vs warrior or something. It's too slow to save you from face hunter, and doesn't really affect the game enough vs paladin or demons etc.

Aren't all the minions webspinners? Not gonna win any jousts.
Or have they fixed it and you are playing portals, in which case there are no minions and the Joust wouldn't happen.
I realized as I typed this it's probably the latter.

Yeah you don't win the jousts with the joust beasts, everything is a tie of spinners. Awful brawl, "hey three captain's parrots, oh you got Mukla and the beast, cool".
Its pretty sad they cant' come up with a more steady stream of ideas for this, I really thought it would be a test mode for alternate rulesets. Wishful thinking.

Aggro deck that dumps hand ASAP like face hunter or mech mage with 8 1 drops. Or a combo deck that doesn't care about the size of the opponent's board, like freeze mage or patron warrior. Everything else just dies to Divine Favor.

Should I dust my golden vancleef?
EDIT: I do want to build a rogue deck... but I've read some stuff that advise against using vancleef in oil rogue decks. Can someone else comment on that? Thanks.

I dusted my golden VC back in the Miracle hayday to craft Leeroy (ha). I regret nothing, Leeroy won me way more games than VC ever would have. If you need competitive legendaries then dust him imo (I've dusted 2 golden legos, getting to the point where I'm not sure I will in the future or not but I have most of them now).
