Because it targets the original creature twice. The original creature is no longer around for the battlecry to resolve.
I'm inclined to think they will make it act something like this too, but apparently we were all wrong on the Tuskarr interaction as well.

Changes to druid can't come soon enough. The midrange deck is really ridiculous and shitty to play against.

wat? Well if Recombobulator works that way I'm sure this guy will too.
I'd still question if the new version or the transformed would be the target of the second trigger though. I could see +1 or +2 happening with the vague interaction rules they have.

I'd put money on it transforming twice, but still only gaining +1 mana cost. Just like Recombob. They'd have to specifically code the interaction to work with Brann for the +2 to actually work. Because the Battlecry is being triggered on a targetted minion with a specific mana cost, and then is transformed. Brann is coded to make a battlecry trigger a second time, he doesn't recheck the target parameters. Otherwise you'd be able to target a 2nd minion with a Fire Elemental etc.

It targets the minion at the location you've selected. Otherwise recombobulator would create an additional minion by your logic. I'm 99% it'll be +2 but only cause forsen had a recombobulator + brann video recently where he recombobulated his brann and ended up with brann after the 2x trigger. There is an animation bug where you don't see the first transform but it'll show in the history.

The hearthstone science people posted the logic behind it

This dude...

Master of Evolution I Can Taste the Mana

I took the average "original minion" attack and health for each mana cost, 0-9. Because the original minion belongs to a Shaman, I only limited the class types to Shaman and Neutral minions.
I included the 4 free totems (Searing, Stoneclaw, Healing, Wrath of the Air) as 1-mana, as they are commonly played on the field.
Then I took the average "transformed minion" attack and health for each mana cost, 1-10. These minions include all class cards and neutrals.
I took the difference from "transformed" minus "original."
The card sets include all of the currently released sets, not including any Old Gods cards.

Glad they trying to give me reasons to play shammy. Will definitely give these a try. It looks like this expansion is definitely worth it now. Lots of nice, different things this set already.

Finally a good Golden Legendary after opening infinite arena packs since Beta.

My opened golden legendaries:
King Mukla
Malorne
Foe Reaper 9000
Grommash Hellscream

Whew. Feels good.

Gallywix, Jaraxxus, Troggzor, Alexstrasza. As much as it pains me, if the rumors are true and Alex gets nerfed somehow, I think I have to disenchant her. Can't pass up 3200 dust.

"Finally"... you've gotten fucking FOUR!
I said "finally a GOOD golden legendary". I've opened a bazillion packs. Over 3,000 arena wins worth of them, so of course I've opened a few golden legendaries. It's just statistics. But the three prior golden legends were all shit and unplayable in any deck, so yeah.

I think I have 3 but 2 are the worst you could get: Hemet and Gruul. The only good one I have is Cenarius.

Gruul was my first golden legendary, it's sentimental! I keep Hemet because the golden version is like the rarest card in the game.

Also I don't need dust.

I have had four golden Legendaries. TWO Ragnaros (Three total opened of him), one Illidan, and one Deathwing.
