Does anyone else get the feeling that they are sooooooooo afraid of making overpowered cards this expansion, that they decided to dial everything down, and make them as underwhelming as possible?
Are cards generated from the rogue dk considered echo?
Seem's ok'ish in a warrior whirlwind deck. 2dmg to all other minions is 2-2.5'ish mana value, if it hits at least once, so a 6/6 for 5, with the chance for repeated AE hits.
And 7 for a 6/6 isn't completely awful even without the effect going off, not great, but not a wasted turn per say.
It is situationally better than Geddon simply because it doesn't damage your own board, but i'd say in the vast majority of cases you would want/need Geddon. So if you aren't playing Geddon, you aren't playing this. The 1 more health can be relevant, sure, but being able to kill off a 1/1 is also valuable. Your whirlwind might pop some divine shields and this guy can't do the rest of the job.

So perusing the current cards I am trying to reconfigure a Cubelock deck, and I come to realize ... again ... how broken as fuck this deck is. It's incredibly versatile and has so much space to tinker with. Here's a list using the 2 new Warlock Legendaries only:
Echo Cubelock
- 2 x Dark Pact
- 2 x Kobold Librarian
- 2 x Mortal Coil
- 2 x Defile
- 2 x Gnomeferatu
- 2 x Hellfire
- 2 x Lesser Amethyst Spellstone
- 2 x Doomguard
- 2 x Possessed Lackey
- 1 x Skull of the Man'ari
- 1 x Glinda Crowskin
- 1 x Rin, the First Disciple
- 1 x Lord Godfrey
- 2 x Voidlord
- 1 x Bloodreaver Gul'dan
- 2 x Carnivorous Cube
- 2 x Mountain Giant
- 1 x Sea Giant
Cards missing that you often see in Cubelock:
Spellbreaker
Twisting Nether
Spiritsinger Umbra
Faceless Manipulator
Prince Taldaram
So I basically am trying to squeeze in Glinda, which is probably worse than just adding some Faceless/Umbra/Silence, but whatever.
So I have 2 options with Glinda:
Glinda + Gnomeferatu + Echo Gnomeferatu on 10 mana, allowing at least 3 discards (2x Gnomeferatu + 1 Echo'd) and potentially more if Glinda sticks a turn, which isn't unheard of in Cubelock due to the number of taunts.
Glinda+Sea Giant x 4 (requires some careful trading to make sure giants remain free). Should be easily doable after you have a board full of Voidwalkers that you can trade off. Happens pretty frequently in Cubelock. Also with Dude Paladin or other flood/aggro decks, it probably isn't a hard combo to pull off. I only have 1 Sea Giant because I still value the turn 4 mountain.
Godfrey is just insane and should be an auto-include.
Other than that, it's just standard shit.
Nope, makes a copy. Are cards generated from the rogue dk considered echo?
I always enjoy your process during the early stages of a new release. Glinda sucks for Cube but I'm really interested in trying her in a Renolock. I'm almost shocked the best card in the set is a warlock legendary since they have the most powerful deck returning but I guess I shouldn't be. The set is weak as hell though which makes Godfrey stand out even more. Outside of that, I'm working on Hydronox and definitely a Lady in White deck. I think Aviana has the ability to surprise with her power as well. Some interesting good stuff but the longer this game lasts, the more it reminds me of a less tested MtG. All the power and interesting stuff is legendary, it's all expensive to get, and most of sets are filler.
Thanks manSounds like you're an exclusive Wild player?
Deck building is really what I love about this game, just unfortunate it only lasts ~1 week before you know what the meta will be.
Working on a Flood Paladin list with the new Weapon. Saw an idea using Dragons to discount it.
While tinkering, I realize that Dude Paladin is losing so much, I think the deck basically dies. No more Steward or Stand Against Darkness kinda kill it. But maybe not entirely dead, you still have Call to Arms, Vinecleaver, and Jailor. I just think the Stand Against Darkness + Level Up/Stegadon or Steward+Dudes, is just too strong to ignore.
So instead I tried to put together a Murloc+Dragon deck:
WIP Murloc Dragon Flood
- 2 x Righteous Protector
- 2 x Cathedral Gargoyle
- 2 x Hydrologist
- 2 x Divine Favor
- 2 x Unidentified Maul
- 2 x Call to Arms
- 1 x Sunkeeper Tarim
- 1 x Silver Sword
- 2 x Murloc Tidecaller
- 2 x Faerie Dragon
- 2 x Knife Juggler
- 2 x Rockpool Hunter
- 2 x Murloc Warleader
- 2 x Nightmare Amalgam
- 2 x Ebon Dragonsmith
- 2 x Gentle Megasaur
14 minions 1-2 cost
10 murlocs (counting Amalgam)
6 dragons (counting Amalgam)
Trying to get cute with Ebon Dragonsmith to pull off a 6 mana Silver Sword or 1 mana Maul. Maybe not worth it, but saw it as an interesting idea.
6 Dragons is usually enough in a deck to consider a "requires dragon" card. Gargoyle is a strong turn 2 play if you can get it off frequently.
Amalgam benefitting from murloc buffs could be pretty strong.
Faerie Dragons could be Cobalt or something else, but I wanted more cheap minions.
The city of Gilneas once lived in uneasy peace with the sprawling, ancient forest that looms beyond its walls. Though the wilderness was grim and forbidding, the citizens of Gilneas—being no ordinary folks—roved and hunted there without fear.
That was before a darkness began to fester in the heart of the forest. . . . Before the wicked witch Hagatha cast a dire curse!
A sunless gloom now cloaks winding trails, and gnarled branches claw hungrily at passersby. Terrified travelers speak of misshapen shadows flickering in an unearthly mist. In the witching hours, eerie figures have even been seen to stalk the narrow alleys and foggy, cobble-stoned streets of the city itself.
Foolhardy travelers who dare venture beyond the city walls after nightfall disappear into the wilderness, never to return. The Witchwood is safe for none to tread!
Beginning April 12, join the city’s brave monster hunters as they enter the forest on the trail of Hagatha the Witch in Hearthstone’s newest expansion: The Witchwood!
For a limited time* after The Witchwood arrives, log in to claim three card packs and a random class legendary card—both from the expansion—for free!
Time is running out to pre-purchase The Witchwood before the expansion launches to receive a special 50 card pack bundle, as well as the In a Dark Woodcard back and 20 more The Witchwood card packs as a bonus!
You will receive the In a Dark Wood card back and your packs as soon as your purchase is processed, and you can tear into your card packs once the expansion is live in your region.

My idea for an Odds Hunter Deck.
Elementals seem to fit pretty well, since all of the neutral ones are odd cost. Lack of card draw is a definite weakness, as is only 4 direct damage spells available. It remains to be seen if the continued hero power pressure would be enough to make a deck like this work.
It might need more defensive options like stonehill defender, or maybe eaglehorn bow, but I'm not sure bow is worth it with no secrets. I also had stitched tracker for card generation in place of bearshark, depends on what is better, card generation or a threatening body.
Warlock spell stone. Also would it draw both obsidian statues for a priest?![]()
A new Curator-type card. Same mana cost, no Taunt.
I am skeptical here. No decks are putting Lifesteal cards in, so now it's down to a 2 card draw.
