I've been deranking like crazy these past couple of days. I know I say this every couple weeks but the game has completely lost all of its fun for me. It's nothing but Reynad Hunter and Reynad Zoo decks out there right now. Reynad should feel proud. By himself, he has completely destroyed any semblance of fun this game has. Yeah I know if not him it would be someone else but still...
Having the same experience, wish I could sell my piece of shit cards.

The devs suck, not the players.
I don't disagree. As others have said, when they were doing monthly "balancing," it forced the game and the meta to change (though some might argue that their "balancing" led us to the situation we're in now). Today things are very stagnant and I don't see that changing until they finally release new cards. And I have no idea what their time frame for doing that is but, honestly, I don't expect anything until later this year. Blizzard is just too slow for this kind of thing and it's a small pool of talent working on the game in the first place.

Did Blizzard run their physical card game prior to Hearthstone? How often was there updates to that? I know it's not really a good comparison though.

Excellent question. From what I understand based on our good friends over at Wikipedia, it was run by Upper Deck.

Sets were released as follows:

Heroes of Azeroth (released October 2006)
Through the Dark Portal (released April 2007)
Fires of Outland (released August 2007)
March of the Legion (released December 2007)
Servants of the Betrayer (released April 2008)
The Hunt for Illidan (released July 2008)
Drums of War (released November 2008)
Blood of Gladiators (released March 2009)
Fields of Honor (released June 2009)
Scourgewar (released November 2009)
Wrath Gate (released May 2010)
Archives (released August 2010 - foil reprints from Heroes of Azeroth to Fields of Honor)
Icecrown (released September 2010)
Worldbreaker (released December 2010)
War of the Elements (released April 2011)
Twilight of the Dragons (released July 2011)
Aftermath: Throne of the Tides (released October 2011)
Aftermath: Crown of the Heavens (released February 2012)
Aftermath: Tomb of the Forgotten (released June 2012)
Timewalkers: War of the Ancients (released October 2012)
Timewalkers: Betrayal of the Guardian (released February 2013)
Timewalkers: Reign of Fire (released July 2013)

So about 3 expansions per year which is about right. I understand that we just went into "release," but a lot of us having been playing for 6 months or longer (I started in early October as an example). I'm also, firmly, of the belief that the only reason they didn't release the game sooner was for this type of smoke and mirrors tomfoolery where they can say "New cards? Already? We've only been in release for a month!"

So I threw together Reynad's Huntard deck and threw it into casual to get a feel for it. 3 games later, I had 3 wins. Huntard mirror match. A paladin who, for some reason, through using his Hero Power every turn was a good idea. And finally a Mage who made the unforgivable mistake of using Mirror Images (I showed him when I tossed down a Timber Wolf, Leeroy Jenkins and Double UTHed his ass).

Yeah. Huntard is completely, and utterly, broken. Small sample size or not, the deck punishes players for making plays that they HAVE to make anyway.

Yeah, playing against hunter you have to do silly shit like kill off some of your own creatures sometimes. It is absurd.

I would like to see UTH made to generate a static number of pups and have the casting cost balanced around that. I don't think they will do that, as it makes it too similar to another card.

Yea, 2 mana for 2 1/1 with Charge isn't completely insane. It's strong as hell, but not getting punished for playing more of your own creatures against it makes it weaker than it is now I guess.

It might be too complex. But make UTH provide charge ONLY if you have less health then the opponent. And cost 4 mana. Make it more like mortal strike.

The card to blame is Timber Wolf. It enables all the crazy damage while also drawing the Hunter into more combo pieces.

didnt they nerf UTH to cost 4 mana before buffing it back to its original 2?

No, the problem is UTH. UTH combos with Leeroy, Timber Wolf, Starving Buzzard, and forces your opponent to play around it.

The first time they nerfed it, it was give all beasts +1 attack and charge for one fucking mana. That was the one turn kill hunter days. Then they made it what it is now, but made it four mana. Then no one played hunter at all so they made it two mana. And here we are.

Wait, you mean cards interact with other cards? And some cards force an opponent to play differently?

You played Magic, right?

Going Buzzard + Unleash is really good if your opponent filled up the board for some reason. It's playing the Timber Wolf after for 1 mana to draw another card that breaks the symmetry of Unleash and literally doubles the damage potential. There should be no one casting costs beasts that interact with Unleash.

Again, you guys are hard at work creating a meta in which there is only Druid.

any meta where theres only druid doesnt exist because druid loses so hard to other control decks.

Ranked is just a cesspool now, you guys are right. I'll take arena over this shit any day. I'm saving my arena class choices to match daily quests as much as possible now. I hope to fuck they don't actually think they can never nerf anymore cards like they were insinuating at the end of beta.

So what decks are yall running where facing a hunter is an auto loss to cause this much bitching? Just by sticking a single Ooze in your deck makes your win rate go up by a fair amount. Control Warrior and Druids are still favorable matchups. Even if you only win 50-55% of those Hunter matchups, you're still going to rank up. I went from rank 17 to rank 5 in the last 4 days to get some extra stars for next season playing around 70ish games with Warrior and Control Paladin of all things and even with all the Hunters running around, the Paladin deck was sitting at a ~72% win rate and the Warrior was around 68%.

In short, slap some Oozes in your decks, put in some life gain, even if it is just an Earthen Ring, perhaps a taunt or two, and Hunter isn't near as bad as people make it out to be.

Just don't play Priest.
