Yeah, I didn't realize you could do that until I saw a player fireblast their own minion. I've accidentally frostbolted myself three times because I was going to cast it, but then decided not to and let go and it hit myself. -.- I'll have to remove some of my spells/minions and get some enrage fellers.

Don't go overboard. Amani Berserker is good, Raging Worgen and Gurubashi Berserker are good for low level constructed. The other enrage stuff sucks.

Play Angry Chicken and then buff it with Shattered Sun cleric. Ping your chicken and watch your opponent concede in complete awe as you dominated him with an insane combo.

For the record, that train of thought almost never happens. When Enrage minions get a chance to do their thing, they're really powerful but with the exception of the Gurubashi Berserker, it's extremely rare for an enrage minion to survive past the turn being played. When I see a Mage coin out an Amani Berserker, I know what's coming so I will kill it instantly if I can. Barring that I'll drop something that has to be dealt with of my own so he doesn't get the 5 attack punch to my face.

But like Gavinrad suggests, they're good low level constructed combos that can win games. At higher levels of play, you're increasingly unlikely to get that combo off since you'll be facing smarter players with decks designed to prevent that very scenario from occurring.

Which actually makes it more awesomer (from my newb perspective). Ping it once with mage power, again with elven archer, and watch it crush. Healing it up with something else is even better, as it retains the attack bonus.

Warlock. Also Mage is generally ranked second or third, depending. I think Trump put it third, behind Druid. Koyuki put it second. Kolento put it second. Every single HS pro I've heard asked this question has put the Warlock hero power first, followed by statements like "it isn't even close" and "every other hero power would be a 0 mana card, the Warlock hero power is close to being as powerful as a 3 mana card." They were talking about constructed, arena is different.

Personally I divide it into late/middle/early game. Rogue is the best early game power. Paladin is the best late game power. Etc.

The comparison was Arcane Intellect. Arcane Intellect draws two cards, but it itself is a card so it only really gives you one extra card. It costs 3 mana. Lifetap costs 2 mana and 2 health and gives you one extra card, just like AI.

I heard Trump, Amaz, and Kolento make this comparison a few weeks apart. The point being that every other hero power, which can also be used over and over again, is the equivalent of a 0 mana card and the Warlock hero power is closer to being at a power level where it would cost between 2-3 mana if it was a card, edging towards 3 depending on you value health totals.

I'm not entirely sure I agree, mind, but when three people who know the game way better than I do say the same thing, I listen at least.

Ah yeah, I forget the whole "costs a card" thing.

Still wrong though, because none of the other hero powers would be zero mana if you are counting it that way. You'd be using the ability and gaining a card. Paladin hero ability would unquestionably be 2 mana(and the card I was originally thinking of).

That is the point, it doesn't cost a card. Paladin hero ability as a card is a Wisp. Mage hero ability with a card is Moonfire. Warlock hero ability as a card? Is basically Arcane Intellect. So you remove the "as a card part." Warlock hero ability is basically AI, a 3 mana card, whereas the other hero abilities you're paying 2 mana for something that would be 0 if it was a card.

That is the argument. Again, not sure I agree, though I do agree that Warlock has the best hero power.

It is still 1 of your 30 cards. Similarly, that is why you can not compare the warlock hero power to shiv or wrath.

We arent puttin them in decks, we are choosing equivalents. If lock hero power is equivalent to arcane intellect then paladin is novice and mage is shiv. Thus isn't hard to understand.

Except if you are choosing equivalents there are already cards that directly compare, the master even already told you as much. Paladin is wisp and mage is moonfire, both 0 mana cards.

There you go with the insulting thing again, evidently it is too hard for some people to understand. Please, with your expansive knowledge explain to us how 2 mana play a 1/1 is equivalent to 2 mana play a 1/1 and draw a card.

No... the 2 mana of the hero power makes up for the fact that it is not costing you a card.

So:

1/1 token costs you a card: 0 mana
1/1 token as a hero power, doesn't cost you a card: 2 mana.

Get an extra card in hand from your deck, costs you a card: 3 mana.
Get an extra card in hand from your deck as a hero power, doesn't cost you a card: 2 mana, 2 life.

Not exact equivalents. But that is the argument. I guess you could make the argument that the Paladin Hero power is essentially gaining you a "free" Wisp card for 2 mana every time you use it.
