Shaman fix is easy - their hero power cost 2 mana and lets them play any totem they currently have in their "sideboard" which is separate from their normal hand. Play the ones they need. Would probably make them super OP though.

Ah yes, easy fix as long as you don't mind the incredibly game breaking part. Good show.

I'm all for eliminating RNG from this game. How would you fix it? Throw the paladin hero power in there too while you are at it. Does choice really make it game breaking? How about you get overloaded if you pick, and you don't get overloaded if you RNG it?

Lore wise, do Shamans really just throw a totem down and hope for the best?

Well everyone and their mom is playing Control warrior tonight because of Kripparians retard video. It's not even worth playing if you have to play that deck in a mirror.

Ill just wait till the new cards get out, and sit on rank.

After all this discussion I'd love to have one of you tell me what's the value of the shaman hero power?
I'm gonna take a stab at this and I apologize ahead of time if I sound dumb.

When I played Shaman more often in the past, I used to think of the power as a 'free permanent'. An MTG term. That is powerful in and of itself by creating buff targets, but also as a distraction. But if not as a distraction, and they go for your face instead, then you get to slowly build Voltron. Voltron is when you have Healing, Wrath of Air, and Searing totems out and you can count on a new Stoneclaw every round. I have won many games on this. Or more specifically, on my opponent not understanding that I had successfully created Voltron. My opponent might form the Blazing Sword, but I form Voltron's 0/2 Taunting Head every turn.

Next time you play Shaman, try to make Voltron. See if you like it. I sure did. I even used to coin into Hero Totem on turn one. And followed it up again on turn 2 with another totem. Another on turn 3. Turn 4 is where you had to start making real choices. That's how highly I came to value Voltron (before I fell in love with Druid and got a divorce from Shaman).

I definitely won some arena matches on the back of Serpent totems. Maintaining board control for an extra turn or two because of perma taunt is nothing to sneeze at.

I think the shaman hero power is fine. The disadvantage of its randomness is largely offset by its synergy with shaman cards (e.g. Flametongue Totem) and its situational upsides (totem effects can have a major impact on certain game states).

The downside being many times the randomness of the totem is a total blank to the board. I long for the broken ass days of beta when Healing Stream healed all characters.

Shaman fix: you see which totem you are going to summon and it rotates through all 4 before looping.

On Heroic Kel'Thuzad, they need to reword his hero power to "Steal the BEST enemy minion your opponent controls" because it sure as hell isn't random.
