So sometimes I like to put together a 30 Legendary deck and just fuck around in normals.

This just happened.

Playing in Casual just reminds me that in Hearthstone there's no fun allowed. Maybe if I try and tank my casual mmr enough I can find some enjoyment in playing random 30 card decks and not have to face Deathrattle Priest, Zoo, or Control Warriors one after the other.

Ugh yeah. I was really disappointed earlier today (not angry, just sorta sad and bored) because I haven't been playing much, but logged on to do my quests and play some fun casual decks and all I ran into were Deathrattle Priest and Control Warrior. It was too boring to play.

Nice. I always love me some Yolowing goodness.

I once had a pyroblast in my hand that would've ended the game. I played Yolowing instead

I am not nearly as good as the lot of you. I've been having trouble finding a good deck for mage that is low to mid tier. I tried doing a mixture of spells of monsters to more spells less monsters. Now I'm mostly monsters with deathrattle and battlecries. It seems I have more luck with the latter, but the lack of spells is ugh. A couple days ago, I went 10 wins streak with my 25 monster/5 spells deck and then I got to rank 18 (yeah yeah, low I know) and encountered everyone with legendaries and shit. Last night I had 5 warriors all who whooped my ass with control. Fuck. :|

I looked at Hearthstone wikia for good mage deck but I can't figure out what is good to play with what I personally have.

The 3 main Mage decks are agro (amazing when it works but inconsistent), Secrets (needs some legendaries/expensive cards) and freeze (even more legendaries and expensive cards).

Not sure how accurate this still is but this guy was recreating all the legend decks, can at least browse through for some ideas.

EDIT:: The deck Gavin linked is also solid, can consider Haunted Creeper instead of Thalnos as well for Undertaker/Juggler synergy or even a mirror entity for more Scientist value.

The learning curve is incredibly steep because there are so many people farming the 20s. Just had a shaman with every single epic and legendary and couldn't do anything with his double Kel'Thuzad, Al'akir, Feugen, etc. LOL. Thanks for the link, though. I wonder if I should continue playing mage.

It's not really a hot class at the moment.

Unless you're super concerned about rank, play whatever you're having fun with. If you're really concerned about rank, play zoo; its the most competitive/cheapest deck.

While I'm not super concerned with rank, the fun factor is lost when I'm playing against someone who is also rank 20-24 who clearly de-leveled to farm the newbs. I'll look at other classes, though.

Hunter and Warlock have the cheapest competitive decks, followed probably by Shaman and maybe Paladin or Priest? Warrior and Druid are pretty pricey.

You can't lose stars past 20 though, at 18 you're right in the thick of the portrait farming hell as most will lvl/de-lvl through ranks 20-15, I assume. Ppl in the 20-24 range with non-basic cards are either absurdly bad or they may normally play in a different region and are just getting to 20 for the card back. I do that in eu, I built a budget zoo deck and get to 20 at the end of the month, when its even easier to climb, for the card back. I've lost a grand total of 1 game in the 3-4 months I've started doing that and that was to a priest who had a complete deck.

I'd consider shaman pricey too for someone starting out, they have a lot of good commons, but like no good basics outside of fire elemental and hex. Control warrior is pricey, but aggro warrior is inexpensive, just zoo and hunter are generally better for aggro, but if you like/want to lvl warrior you can make a decent aggro deck.

Flametongue Totem and Unbound Elemental are pretty good. Unbound just relies on having the overload cards worth a shit. Which are all rare.

Yeah, well that and flametongue also depends on supporting cards and unbound elemental is a common.
