I bought muradin and I prefer him way more than arthas. A muradin specced into all the stuns with double haymaker is just ridiculous, not to mention his kick ass mobility with the leap.

Mosh reminds me more of Tidehunter's ult more than anything. Problem is Tidehunter can rush blink dagger and ETC has to wait until 20 to get a really reliable and good initiate.

that's why I bought a stim pack so I could get into ranked asap, probably not the biggest difference but yeah people play with no sense of purpose if theres nothing on the line I know I really don't try that hard in QM unless im with some friends, its just a testing ground.

It's not just the people, it's the team comps that quick match gives you and thinks you have any chance of winning a game with.

I played a bunch of more Abathur games again last night. I really like this champ. I can't really decide on a build yet and all the "guides" people are using seem like terrible combinations.

The most popular post rework guide is a locust based build. I dunno, but people really seem to think it's cool spawning locusts and doing damage that way.

I mean 30% more health and 40% longer lasting? Meh. I would much rather have increased range and cooldown on my AOE Spikes. Even in a seiging focused build. I still don't know what Ultimate is worth taking. For one, cloning a hero is great, but you don't get the ultimate ability. Sometimes it's helpful, sometimes it's useless. The Monstrosity ult helps with split pushing while you're team fighting with your symbiote. I've had more success with that, but I've also played with some really shitty teams too.

The level 20 traits are tricky too. The enhanced Evolution (clone) gives the target a 20% max health shield that refreshes every 5 seconds. That shit is fucking dope as fuck. The target needs to know it's on him though. Probably better when we team up than in QM/Soloq. The Monstrosity upgrade, I never used, but 50% uptime and the ability to tunnel anywhere on the map might be fun. I'll have to try it.

There is a level 16 trait that augments your Clone/Monstrosity that does 36+7 AOE damage every 3 secs and on death. Is 170 damage every 3 worth it? Doesn't seem so to me, but it's free damage. However the other alternatives are 40% slow on your aoe spikes which is really really good in team fights. I'll have to test it I guess.

The other level 20 traits are interesting. Hivemind creates two symbiotes but that requires you symb on a minion and it then mirrors on a nearby hero. If you're in a team fight somewhere random, it becomes useless because either minions die fast, or you're in the middle of the jungle somewhere near an objective because you get this at 20. Would be really useful at level 1 since it'll really help early game laning phases.

Then you have another trait that creates a locust nest that mirrors your passive. Pretty neat. I used some combos and managed to get 200k seige damage in one game without trying.

Enough rambling from me.

I think I'm going to pick up a stimpack as well. Played a couple games with Mures last night, had fun and checked the replay to see a lot of mistakes I was making (cool feature) so will hopefully improve tonight. If I can get regular groups will stim for sure seems like a good deal.

@Draegan we tried to grab you last night for a group but you went like immediately into matched lol.

I think I'm going to pick up a stimpack as well. Played a couple games with Mures last night, had fun and checked the replay to see a lot of mistakes I was making (cool feature) so will hopefully improve tonight. If I can get regular groups will stim for sure seems like a good deal.

I've played over 80 games in hero league.. and I can remember only one having an Abathur (we got killed). According to Hotslogs, he has a 43% win rate. I've played a couple of games with him since the changes.. and he's just not that good anymore. Tough to win when your team is at a disadvantage every team fight.

He's a tough champion to play effectively I would expect the hero to have a low win rate. Not saying he's a good champion though. He's fun to play.

I think abathur needs a bit of special consideration when team-building. Need to build a 4man that can do well in 5 man fights.

I think my nova can fit jus simply because you can immediately get a pick to even up the teamfight... would be interesting to see.

Maybe we can try some stuff tonight? Idk

I played a few QM games as Abathur last night and he has certainly lost his oomph. The deal with Abathur is that you always went locust build because at the late game his Symbiote completely falls off in terms of relevancy. So what you'd do is go full locusts so you had something to do in the intermission between having clone up. Since clone sucks now that isn't really the case. You are simply going to be in hat-mode a majority of the game. So now I'm wondering if a problem is many Abathurs are still doing full-on Locusts builds. Of the very few Masters league games on Abathur the majority are locust builds. Dropping the restriction down to Diamond it is almost nothing but locusts builds. Although my first impression with him last night was that he is mostly worthless now it could just be I'm stuck in the pre-patch mindset with now to play him. I'll probably give him a few more games and try out a few more builds. I went full-on carapace support and the results weren't that spectacular. I feel Stab needs to get it's scaling adjusted. I was just chain spamming stab into people and after like level 10 it was doing basically no damage (it does 134 damage at 10 which is basically an auto attack from an assassin.)

Abathur is great with Illidan. Attack Speed boost and melee ftw.

Try specing increased Stab damage, increased stab charges, and Hivemind. At level 20 you can do some serious burst in a team fight. Basically, each stab is doing 250 damage. You have three charges, and they are coming from two sources. So best case scenario, if you get Hivemind off, you get 6 x 250 damage. If you drop symb and re-hat someone you get all your cooldowns back again. So you hat someone spam Q and W, drop, wait 4s and reapply.

Only issue with Hivemind is that it requires 2 heroes or a minion and a hero since the hivemind only jumps to another hero and not a minion/merc.

They removed Stab damage it is just stab range now. So at 20 you are doing 224 damage per stab which is decent but it still is a skillshot so you can't 100% rely upon making it (though you should get it fairly reliabally) and that is still really low damage considering Valla's auto attacks at that level do 200 damage by themselves. He seems to be in this very bizzare realm where he is straddling the line between support and damage but doing neither very well. I could see certain comps where the haste his symbiote gives being a nice boost but making your assassin 25% more effective off rclick hardly makes up for the absence of a hero on the battlefield. Even then very few assassins really get their damage off rclick damage these days it is mostly skill based damage.

Abathur really relying on other heroes is a big issue too. If there is an Abathur in the game I get closer to fights as support in case he wants to use spines.
There's just so many games where you see Abathur get on one person to help, and that person runs away, etc.
