Yea, now that Brightwing is free, pretty much win in pubs. Really liking that hero.
Brightwing can cover up your team's mistakes so well. Your opponent is out of position and away from the team getting ganked? Z in and save him. Your tank dove too hard or got pushed out of position? Blink heal in and burst HP onto him. Your team mates have no idea how to slow a fleeing hero? E your DPS and have him kill him. Channeling ult going on from the other team? W them.

The only time I have major issues is if my team absolutely refuses to not take team fights before I'm 10. Worse yet if they take like a level 5 before I get my level 7 talent to heal on ability use. We can then get to like level 8 and the other team gets 10 and their ults then just snowballs from there.

The rune system is pretty shitty when you're a new player, it's not as bad as it sounds in LOL because at least you're spending a ton of hours leveling from 1-30 gaining IP the whole way through that you can at least buy a basic set of runes when you hit 30 and compete with others. Under 30 runes are useless anyway, and the only thing that really matters is mechanics at that point.

Hopefully the ranking system or whatever they have puts newers players and veteran players far away from each other.

But yeah, runes are still shitty.

It would cool if the artifacts added stats + some visual effect but the models in this game are so fucking ugly I doubt it would matter. I like how people are upset that they can no longer log in once in a while to play. This is a fucking business. Of course Blizzard wants you hooked.

I dont mind it, casual play is still pretty fun. When I get home on most weekdays I just knock out dailies. I dont play a lot except on weekends at night. Game is pretty damn easy to pick up IMO. Casuals dont have a lot to bitch about in its current iteration.

Cores are a little bit tougher to take down. Lots of heroes changes, Brightwing got a slight nerf, and other heroes I'm not sure if it is a nerf or not yet, like Tassadar they only say they moved one talent from lvl 4 to lvl 1 which would be a buff, but if they removed the inc psi-storm 25% talent all together, it would be a nerf, if they just swapped them it would still be a buff.

That Brightwing nerf is a bit more than slight. His blink heal is on a 6s cooldown with 2 charge. That means in a matter of two seconds you can burst onto a single hero a thousand or so HP at the same time releasing your mist for another 400 or so HP. Not shocked it was nerfed.

Blizzard is really fucking dumb sometimes. So now even if you are a veteran player with a ridiculous amount of time spent in the game, every time you want to play a new hero you have to be a gimp for 10 games or more to unlock the ability to choose all their talents. I've been really looking forward to this game, but between this and their new relic system, what the fuck kind of retard drugs are these guys on?

Well reddit is in flames over the recent changes, it's like all tears and pitchforks atm. I thought there would be more people siding with Blizzard on how it's fun to unlock stuff and have something to work for and "I don't like to have every hero anyway I find it too confusing I like when I only have 2 or 3" like when people were discussing the hero prices, but so far it's all drowned in the whining.

Wonder if they'll take a step back.

Also I haven't checked the patch but from the notes, was the casual player gold actually massively nerfed or? It says dailies are 200g only now and you gain 10g for defeat and 40g for victory in versus. To get the same average 400ish g from before(was 250 or 500 but 500 was more common I think so weighted towards that) that means you need to win 5 games a day on top of the daily when before you'd just need to play(win or lose) 2games a day. That sounds like a pretty harsh nerf to gold income unless you play 3+ hours a day. Am I mistaken or did they really massively nerf gold income?

Yeah, even though I hate artifacts at least they do provide some added depth to the game even if I disagree if it needed that kind of depth. But the hero lvl changes in regards to talents is just fucking retarded. I'm pretty sure I still have some later talents locked on etc and I was on the last quest with him, so I have 61(2+4+10+15+30) games recorded with him. Are you telling me I'm going to have to play ~75 games to unlock all talents for each hero? I don't see that flying with anyone.

Oh and the game is much more responsive now.

Artifacts and talent unlocking are a complete swing and a miss.

For starters it absolutely kills any desire to play different hero styles. I simply cannot afford it. I was in the 35k gold bracket and that basically means I could unlock fully about 5 runes. I got HP%, HP Regen, Mana Regen, Mana%, Mount Speed%. Artifacts are basically night and day when you have a hero slotted in them correctly. Mount Speed% rune basically makes any hero without a mount extremely difficult to play. You can get from one area of the map to the other so much easier. But since I didn't invest in basic attack speed% I am basically disallowed from playing Valla or Raynor. I don't like Assassins as much as Support and Warrior but I still like to queue on them every now and again.

Now that leads into the second reason to never play other characters. Talent gating. This may actually be the worse change this patch. Like I said I play support and warrior. So right now I have a fully unlocked Brightwing and a mostly unlocked Arthas (even though I've played a ton I STILL cannot upgrade my E at level 1.) What if I want to play a random game as Raynor? Nope fuck off. Can't use my Searing Attacks / Berserk build that I like to run.

Artifacts basically need to be nerfed in half. Or removed completely. I prefer the latter. Talent gating simply needs to go.

I can see where their heads are with this. It gives a more casual player a method of advancement over a long period of time playing a single hero while more hardcore players would, in principle, branch out to parallel characters.

The disadvantage comes if the casual players see a huge barrier to entry at the start with even ONE character and/or disillusionment if they start working on a hero that they end up not liking.

As a semi-casual player I don't see how any casual would be excited for this. You are at a disadvantage statistically just because the other guy across from you plays more. That isn't fun. I want to be worse on merit alone not on statistics.

The funny thing is they fixed the input lag, which was the biggest complaint before the patch, but barely anyone is talking about that because of the other shit.
