Not to be a dick, but that was not your original claim. Your original claim was that gay men transitioned (which in hodj's world means grow hair, get fake boobs and get tattoos) to work as MtF transsexuals in the porn industry as it pays better and, once they are done, they detransition (in hodj's world: cut their hair, remove implants, get tattoos removed).

To vaguely support this claim you post a video by Bailey Jay where she mentions in-fighting in the trans community and a hormone she stopped using as somehow an example of your frankly outlandish scenario, totally glossing over the rest of the video and also not understanding that she did not stop using hormones, but that she stopped using a specific product that really did not work for her.

Trans porn being targeted at straight men was something that was already mentioned in the big trans thread a couple years ago and trans porn stars (at least of the MtF variety) being in average better paid than straight or gay men performers is unsurprising, but the notion that gay men would undergo surgery and hormone therapy (with the costs, medical side effects and heavy psycho-social side effects) to gain several thousand bucks over the course of three or four years is an extraordinary claim that was met with no proof whatsoever.

Can you find some specific examples? Also detransitioning after the porn career is not proof in itself since there is a number of people who have gender identity problems, think and hope transition will solve their issue and detransition when they realize it does not or even make it worse.

PS: And what's up with the tattoo thing? That's so weird.

You explicitly stated that (without proof) and also that gay men where doing that (without proof). Why not straight men by the way since many perform in gay porn anyway?

On a side note, I seriously doubt one could become a trans porn star without hormone therapy, even with implant. Maybe in south-east asia, but that's obviously not the scenario you had in mind and also a whole other can of worms (pun intended!).

Your claim is that gay men transition for the purpose of doing trans porn. Detransitioning after the porn career is no indication that it was the purpose of the transition in the first place.

No, I don't understand the correlation between tattoos and trans porn stars. Most porn stars are tattooed, but why would you need to get tattoos specifically to become a porn star? That is the weird part. Especially in your odd "short term job" scenario.
