In all honesty it is for the wife, we have a three bedroom, and one of those rooms is essentially my office. She managed to get her Bachelor's Summa Cum Laude despite having no place to go in the house that was quiet, last year she says she wants to get her masters and then a PHD. I said fuck that noise, a bachelors was already a pain in the ass and we would need a bigger house so we don't end in divorce. So the hunt for a larger house began, but every house we liked was on the market for two days max before selling and the hunt grew tiresome quickly. We talked about what to do and with only like 40k left on our current house we decided to stay, pay off the house ASAP, and live with as close to zero overhead as possible. That left us at square one in terms of a quiet space, jokingly I said I will just build you a shack, with a fan and some ice water you will be fine. Then I was like, fuck that is a great idea I will build you a shack only it will be awesome, she pictured a rickety tool shed I pictured more or less what we are building.

Hmmm, so more of a 'rub hub' than a 'jack shack'.

ever figure this out? My first guess would be.. you have a GFI you are forgetting about. I mean, your BATH and OUTSIDE don't have one? Aren't they required by code on both?
Negative, still haven't figured it out.

House was built in 1989, and I'm not sure when GFI became standard code. Like I said, the only GFI I have found in our entire house is one outlet in the kitchen.

I haven't had time to really test out all of the circuits, and the person who labelled them was terrible about it. It's weird because the lights in both bathrooms (and outside, for that matter) work, it's just those 4 outlets that don't. You'd think more than likely they'd be on the same circuit.

Really wish they ice and water shielded your windows on the rough. Also wish you added an exterior light. Looks great though.

It's a membrane that goes over the nailing flange of the window to make sure no water or ice can get between that flange and the inside of the shed.

Google came up with:

National Electrical Code requires them in:

Outdoors (since 1973)
o Bathrooms (since 1975)
o Garages (since 1978)
o Kitchens (since 1987)
o Crawl spaces and unfinished basements (since 1990)
o Wet bar sinks (since 1993)
o Laundry and utility sinks (since 2005)

NEC Connect

Lights being on lights is normal. Outlets will have gfi's. And its possible for them being on the same circuit because of it. although I would have expect bath and kitchen outlets on one. outdoors/shed/garage possibly together on a second.

do you have a powered shed? check there for it. Garage, basement. maybe even attic. would be odd for that. Id still guess a gfi in some out of the way place, you forgot about. Behind boxes, or something.

hrm, I don't think I have a gfi in my garage... (although might be on the same circuit as my outdoor or shed one.)

Is it possible for you to test the continuity between those wires, with an electrical tester? Might have had a rodent eat some wiring.

Door is in, dry wall is up, they will finish all the rest Monday and we are done with construction.

Looked into the Murphy bed idea and came up with the solution of a hammock instead, when not in use will take up almost zero wall space.
