Big foler, don’t be a biggoty bitch. Get yourself an axe and take some swings. Aim for the edges at about 45 degrees and you’ll have those stumps below grade in no time.

That picture demonstrates why I took the time to use my truck, a chain, and an old tire rim to pull up the trees (the pictures stump/tree probably would’ve been too big to pull, but I would’ve tried!). I have no tiny stumps like that on my property. Unfortunately the big fucking stumps I do have aren’t practical to hack at with an axe. That’s why I burn them wirh my leaf blower technique.
This is what I was thinking. Axe is then using tordon.

So I have chain fencing around my property. Cleared vines from it by fucking hand last summer and of course they grow right back fast.

Herbicide a better option? If so recommendations?
You can try herbicide but if the vines are woody (I’ve got woody grape vines constantly trying to climb up my fences), the herbicide probably won’t be effective. I used loppers and a hatchet the first time I cleared the vines on my fence, and while that was a lot of effort, I now only need to mow along the fence line and over the vines to keep them at bay. I couldn’t do that initially because some of the vine bases were 1-2” thick in diameter and would’ve stalled the engine and possibly busted the spindles.

While those are sweet, they don't have as easy mobility as the ones you strap on or carry.
They don't, but you can get into a lot of places that you couldn't with a lawn mower because the nose sticks out quite a ways and the wheels are big. Much more powerful than a hand held one though and easier on your back. You need the hand held one too, but if you have a lot to do it's very worth it.

If I were to use a stump grinder - is it better to kill it with tordon then grind it or is tordon unnecessary? I just want low enough to the ground to where I’m not tripping over it, can mow over it and it won’t grow back.

You know, I'm honestly not sure if they'll grow back once you grind it down. Maybe shoots coming up from the roots? But you'd be able to mow those down, or hit them with tordon if they do.

Problem is you can’t get a tractor down right now due to summer rain. Ordered tordon to try.

It depends on the tree. I’m not an arborist and this is anecdotal experience, but pine stumps cut below grade won’t come back. Sweet gum, wild cherry, and palm almost certainly will send up shoots, though the shoots will be soft and no problem to mow over for the first year or so.

For the sweet gum I cut down I got it completely dead by burning brush on top of the stump. I think that did something like cauterizing the stump so that it couldn’t sprout any more.

If it comes back it will just be small shoots. If you're mowing at least once a month the mower will cut down whatever comes up from a submerged stump

Anyone ever deal with bed bugs before? Had a friend come through for a few days a month or so ago and apparently deposited them in my place from the grody motel-6 or whatever he stayed at in Kansas on the way out here.

You basically have to torch your house to the foundation, or at the very least get rid of anything with fabric. Bed bugs are the devil.

If you've ever seen Breaking Bad, the way they use the house wrap and then bug bomb process is probably the best practical way to treat bed bugs.

Making some barn doors for the basement out of plywood, couldn’t find any she liked plus they were all like $400+. First one assembled. Wood filler then painting next.

Yea I'm starting to think I should just move.

I've got hardwood floors at least. And I'm willing to just toss my couch since it's an old cheap piece of shit from Ikea anyway. Already threw out all my rugs/blankets/bedding, clothes are all sealed in rubber totes.

Next step is get rid of all the curtains probably? I'd really like to not have to get a new mattress as I just finally bought a real/nice one a couple years ago, but we shall see I guess.

yea curtains is next if they almost touch the floor, what you want to do is have at least 6inches from the floor to any surface get bed risers

Speaking of bugs, the house I just bought has a big cricket and cellar spider population in the finished basement. I vacuumed up probably 30+ spiders the other day, and every morning there seem to be new ones.

There is a TON of vegetation around the house that pushes right up against the foundation, walls, and windows. I want to trim it all back away from the house, and I'm sure that'll help with the bugs. It'll also let me do some spraying around the foundation.

Any suggestions for a basic hedge trimmer to deal with shrubs up to quite large (7ish feet tall) bushes?

Do you have any existing battery operated tools? If yes, I'd get their version of a hedge trimmer that fits whatever batteries you have.

you can get the most basic hedge trimmer starting at 30bucks, but they won't be ideal, expecially for 7ft tall bushes

they start at 17in and then to 22in

i'd recommend getting an attachment pole system, where you have increased reach and usually the hedge trimmers are also articulated so you can angle them while you hedge

i'm only going to talk about the ryobi expand-it system cuz thats what i know
022c80d494168a819b1c415c6f7e02b0.png

but it's universal (most of them are), you can even attach this to it and it works fine(it's what i have)

i was able to get ALOT of reach behind bushes just by sliding it up and down to trim the bushes when i moved in (the bushes looked like 70s porn star), and i didn't have to take out the ladder for most of em.

but it's way more of an investment, if you have more questions on this, i'll answer

you can of course get other brands or even gas too.
