When we were moving in together the girl was like “don’t you already have a rice cooker, we can throw mine out?” I asked, “You mean my Zojirushi?” She was just rolled her eyes and said “I’m going to assume that’s better than my $10 wal mart one.”

Floors in workshop and garage start tomorrow at 7am. Will try to take before and after pics of the process. They’ll be grinding both spaces tomorrow, try to get most of the topcoat down, and come back to finish Tuesday. Should mean only two days out of the garage.

Just becareful with Lanx's recommendations if you value your budget, he's an asian with a 300$ rice cooker
A nice rice cooker is totally worth it.

Unrelated, my garbage disposal decided today was a good day to let me know the end is near. There’s nothing like water under your sink to really make a Sunday great.

Dude, that shit looks fantastic. Is that poplar or oak? Hard to tell from the picture.

You sure you want to paint it? Stain that and keep the wood look there.
The plywood is birch, the trim is poplar. It’s all the wife’s idea and she wants to paint them. I’m just the builder.

Yea I'm starting to think I should just move.

I've got hardwood floors at least. And I'm willing to just toss my couch since it's an old cheap piece of shit from Ikea anyway. Already threw out all my rugs/blankets/bedding, clothes are all sealed in rubber totes.

Next step is get rid of all the curtains probably? I'd really like to not have to get a new mattress as I just finally bought a real/nice one a couple years ago, but we shall see I guess.
Never had to deal with them myself but I've seen Diatomaceous Soil talked about as a universal pest weapon. It's like microscopic sharp particles that cut and dehydrate anything with an exoskeleton.

thats what most of the bedbug powders are made of, you sprinkle it anywhere you think bed will crawl through and you get a pile of dried up bugs, like salt on a snail

Got tordon in. Realized some of these “stumps” are cypress knees for my beautiful cypress trees that are fucking huge (100+ ft).

Afraid to use it on them. Gonna just cut knees down to ground level. May end up renting a stump grinder for other stumps.

Looking at getting a stihl fs 131 to fill the gap between my fs 80 and fs 560. Something light but can eat through tall thick foliage.

I don’t think there is much of a market for small quantities of topsoil without it. Usually people are planting gardens and flowers they want to rocket up. Topsoil alone is usually used in large projects like leveling your land or something. Look for a local mulch / dirt place to deliver it by the yard instead.

Like he said, you’re better off ordering a delivery of screened topsoil from a local landscaping company, especially if they can access wherever you want the soil dropped with their dump truck. There’s easy to use calculators for figuring out how many cubic yards you need. You’ll pay a premium on the bagged stuff.

Keep in mind top soil is largely organic matter that will decompose and compress over time so if you’re wanting to maintain a specific height/grade, you want it to be 50% sand by volume.

Our tomato plants just exceeded 6 feet tall and are barely producing fruit. I think I'm doing something wrong, lol.

I think trimming some branches that aren’t flowering would help. Then they’ll spend energy pumping out fruits instead.

I trimmed the top foot and a half, so let's see what happens there. They also sit in the full sun for 6-8 hours per day. I really don't have a green thumb, so this is new to me.

a few weeks ago i bought a cross cut shredder for all the moving boxes (and all the amazon boxes i get) for composting, i basically filled up a 260gallon compost bin already, i ordered another compost bin and i ordered a "micro cut" shredder to see if i like the increased shred size.

I’m looking to finally start accumulating a set of tools that are “the last tools you’ll ever need to buy”

I need tools basically for routine car maintenance and home repairs and minor fixes

which brand is considered to have the best warranty? I’ve heard good things about both Craftsman and Husky.

best tool cabinets, boxes or bags for that matter?
