Officially fired the deck guys today. My wife has pneumonia so on my end I haven't been on top of stuff admittedly.

Two weeks ago a guy from the company shows up and says 'hey.. so our dude doing permits just straight up didn't do yours. Can you do it for us?'

Told them no and if they didn't by Friday they were fired. Friday rolls around and I'm told 'we submitted it, just waiting 7-10 days for approval.' I get suspicious today because I know when I applied for a permit for our pool the process sounded different. So I call the town - nope they never applied. My blood literally boiled hearing this.

Wrote them immediately during them listing everything they didnt do. Surprise! They immediately respond offering to fix it. I say nope you're fired. You can pick up your tools here and then you aren't allowed on my property anymore.

I now to open a report to the state which from what I understand opens a legal investigation. MA will give up to 3x cost in damages depending on the circumstances.

Guess this is my life now...

There is near 0 chance you will recover anything here. They'll fold up shop and create a new LLC.

I've accepted that. I'm going to let the state handle it though.

There's a recovery fund if the contractors don't pay up, then the state goes after them personally

so all that crying and sympathy most likely bullshit?
More than likely but even if it's not... I don't care

Edit: should add - I would like money back, but if I don't get it it's whatever. More specifically, I'd like this company to be buried.

are you m12 and m18?
I have both, depends on the tool. Since the chargers support both, it's not a huge deal to mix and match. I usually default to the m12 tools since they're so much lighter/compact unless the job really calls for the m18 stuff. Best tool they make, in my opinion, is the m12 fuel surge impact. It's not going to remove lug nuts, but for driving in lag bolts or anything else around thr house it's just about perfect. Much quieter than a typical impact as well.
