Officially fired the deck guys today. My wife has pneumonia so on my end I haven't been on top of stuff admittedly.

Two weeks ago a guy from the company shows up and says 'hey.. so our dude doing permits just straight up didn't do yours. Can you do it for us?'

Told them no and if they didn't by Friday they were fired. Friday rolls around and I'm told 'we submitted it, just waiting 7-10 days for approval.' I get suspicious today because I know when I applied for a permit for our pool the process sounded different. So I call the town - nope they never applied. My blood literally boiled hearing this.

Wrote them immediately during them listing everything they didnt do. Surprise! They immediately respond offering to fix it. I say nope you're fired. You can pick up your tools here and then you aren't allowed on my property anymore.

I now to open a report to the state which from what I understand opens a legal investigation. MA will give up to 3x cost in damages depending on the circumstances.

Guess this is my life now...

There is near 0 chance you will recover anything here. They'll fold up shop and create a new LLC.

I've accepted that. I'm going to let the state handle it though.

There's a recovery fund if the contractors don't pay up, then the state goes after them personally

so all that crying and sympathy most likely bullshit?
More than likely but even if it's not... I don't care

Edit: should add - I would like money back, but if I don't get it it's whatever. More specifically, I'd like this company to be buried.

are you m12 and m18?
I have both, depends on the tool. Since the chargers support both, it's not a huge deal to mix and match. I usually default to the m12 tools since they're so much lighter/compact unless the job really calls for the m18 stuff. Best tool they make, in my opinion, is the m12 fuel surge impact. It's not going to remove lug nuts, but for driving in lag bolts or anything else around thr house it's just about perfect. Much quieter than a typical impact as well.

I am looking for a new leaf blower and weed whacker. My 15 year old black and deckers have finally stopped working. I was thinking about maybe just trying replacement batteries if I can’t find a good deal on something new.

blowersandwhackers.com is such a great website name and it's available. Lanx Lanx , you and Foler Foler should seriously consider collaborating.

Maybe they're pulling a George Costanza and just showing up to work like it never happened.

Direct Tools Outlet used to have really good deals on Ryobi stuff - to the point where it was almost tempting to jump over to that battrty ecosystem. I haven't been impressed with any of their deals lately though.

They also used to also have absurd deals on carpet cleaners - I got a Hoover powerscrub for 15 bucks shipped. I was expecting it to either never arrive or show up completely thrashed, but it looked brand new.

By smaller line are you talking about the USB lithium tools?

yea, it's annoying too cuz i have a "warehouse" in nashville but shit is never there to pick up (a lot of items are pickup only), so i just end up forgetting about it

yea if theres a good deal on these tools

i might snag it up, it would really have to be really good tho like 25$ a tool, reviews are ppl like em, trust me i wouldn't want to be stuck w/ ryobi but no one makes an eco system for the small battery stuff and a step up w/ be the m12 (which was why i was also looking)
