when i moved and gave my doors a new layer, i also had 6panels and was annoyed and i wanted to make use of my spray gun so i bought these
cb425ec9d14aec252f57203c8ea16587.png

it worked well, just lay down a tarp on floor in the middle of the room, and i just unscrewed the doors and attached and sprayed

Hand painting all my trim for a consistent finish (and easy to touch up). Not spraying these on purpose, otherwise I would build a paint booth to do all these.

Or if you're a real baller, you put in the screws off center so the door pivots on the sawhorse.

After I finish my current run of cabinets I'm going to build custom doors for my bedrooms and bathrooms. Current doors are hollow core. Kids want dog doors in them and everyone wants a little sonic privacy.

That's actually really smart. And I likely will use this method in the future. Why does it take so long to learn things?

Dumb question: don't you want to paint all surfaces of the door (including this bottom) to seal them and prevent them swelling a bit from humidity in the summer? I've never had to do doors, this was just some possible bullshit tidbit someone told me a long time ago. Would think this screw method would be counterproductive if true.

With that screw method you could still easily paint the ends as well. Then two dots of white caulking for the screw holes on each end when you were done.

Will have to see if this is worth it. Admittedly with solid core I'd have to use longer screws.

Though I was going to have to put padding down under it on the saw horse anyway. Which I suppose does raise a question about cure time since urethane takes a while.

No finish is truly impervious against water, even paint or epoxy. You'll still get seasonal swelling, just faster or slower depending on what you use.

Need to get a 16x32’ concrete slab poured, with footers, for a shed.. Any estimates on cost? Anything I should be asking contractors to vet them?

Check your local building authority, you may need to get a permit for one that big. They will require a footing/slab inspection prior to pouring. Does the quote include setting up the slab (rebar, edges, sand, compaction) or concrete pour only?

When we got our concrete patio poured it was $15/sq ft last year.

Yeah, but did that include any footers? They're more.

Foler Foler see how much you can save by doing the digging and forms yourself. Heck, you could even do the rebar yourself so they just have to show up and do the concrete. It gets cheaper with everything you do yourself.

Permitting was required. Getting a quote later this week

I just finished making a 24x16 patio for a fire pit (gravel/wood). I don’t have enough time for another project atm. Would be a fun learning experience but I’m happy to pay if the price is not a rip off and product is quality

At first I thought you meant a HAIL storm. Then I read more, and realized... yes. You were indeed correct. A Hell storm.

i don't even like this storm door, the color is ugly the handle is gaudy
This a storm door as in glass / screen east coast style or metal on frame like west coast? Take one hell of a storm to rip the metal on frame ones off.

You should try living in North Dakota. I think it's just expected that you are going to have to replace the gas cylinder on your screen door every 6 months and the door itself every couple of years. Especially if you have kids that will get the screen ripped out of their hands by the 30 mph winds that are always blowing over there.
