There wouldn't be a market for all these sauces if it was just people buying it as a test of manhood or YouTube views.
Yes and no. I would bet a lot of the hottest ones are bought for dares or for testing purposes and get tossed.

We use scorpion/ghost/reaper sauces at work all the time. Imo habanero is the ideal heat/taste mix. Trinidad scorpion isn't bad either.

Yeah, I like habanero the most. It's the perfect heat and flavor for me.

This stuff is actually good. It has a very strong kick to it and I like the taste.

I haven't seen that one but I tried one that was just labeled as "spicy" but it had a weird bitterness to it

Yeah, their regular spicy is, well, not so much. They used actual ghost peppers in this one, and it is actually spicy.

bro no shit, Tabasco's hotter offerings are amazing. i bought a fuckin 1 gallon glass jug of habanero and it's almost gone after a few months at work. their chipotle sauce is probably my favorite hot sauce in general, shit goes great on everything.

edit: scorpion sauce is pretty good as well. a lot cheaper than boutique sauces too.

Does it still taste fundamentally like Tabasco, just hotter?

Tabasco was what I ate as a kid, before I knew there were alternatives, but now days I cant think of a worse tasting hot sauce except some of the novelty shit that was selling itself on name alone (Jim Bean & Jack Daniels).

For most applications I prefer Valentina (black label), which is a cheaper and hotter Cholula, or occasionally, to make things taste like hot wings, go for Frank's or Crystals. Cock sauce is good too, but it's best on Asian food, which I don't eat much of.

Nah it's nowhere near as vinegar heavy, it tastes like a proper hot sauce. It's way cheaper than smaller brand hot sauces too. I'd highly recommend picking them up, especially the habanero and chipotle. Valentina isn't too terrible but I find it way too salty. Either that or Cholula, can't remember which one it was.

They type of pepper doesn't really tell you much about the hotness of the sauce as they can put more or less of it in there. There's habanero sauces that aren't as hot as Tabasco. It also seems to me that the burning doesn't get worse as you go up the scale, it just lasts longer. I did the spicy gummy bear challenge thing once and I didn't feel like it was shockingly hot, it was just that it burned continuously along with the nose and eyes running for like 5 minutes.

Valentina is my go-to for everything these days. I like black label but the local Walmart stopped carrying it so I use the yellow label which is the same flavor, just not as hot. On wings it has to be Frank's Red Hot though. That's just the definitive flavor of buffalo wings in my mind.

I would love for a less viscous version of that sauce. I want to put it on something that's not exactly conducive to mixing. Like a slice of pizza. The few times I remember to mix it into the tomato sauce before spreading it onto the pizza, fantastic.

Trader Joe’s has been out of stock near me for months, but they had a dry version of the chili onion crunch seasoning that was pretty damn good. You can still get the regular one in oil, but the dry seasoning was nice for soup or egg mix ins since it doesn’t make shit super oily

I do love that, but their Sambal Oelek is even better.

oh yeah sambal is the one i buy always, i didn't even realize garlic one was a different variant.

for anyone who wants it just go to any asian grocery store and there are a ton of variants of it and its way cheaper than other grocery stores.

I prefer that one because it has a harder garlic kick and a couple more spices. Sambal Oelek is usually just chili, salt, and vinegar. I usually cook with the Sambal and use the chili garlic sauce for like noodles and dumplings.
