House of the Dragon is following the source material with the author still alive and involved. Targaryens are going to be plotting, fucking each other and riding dragons as you'd expect.
They made the Velaryon family (also Valyerian ancestry) be black, which doesn't make much sense but at least you can imagine they were traders or something. This is the one thing that's wrong with the project from what I can tell.

That’s my point. S 6-8 were based on source material and had the involvement of the author too but they were still trash. This series is destined for the same thing, it’s an adaptation of part of an existing book, with nothing else released. It’s going to follow the same path.

What part of "the show had overtaken the books" don't you understand? You can point to the involvement of GRRM but he's not going to and did not give away the ending of the book he can't finish, let alone the books he hasn't started yet. Hasn't he even said his books will end differently? You really think that shitshow of S8 came from GRRM?

I never said GoT was good or that House of the Dragon will be good. I said that Rings of Power will be worse.
GoT S6-8 was JUST bad writing and House of the Dragon may be the same. Rings of Power is going to be bad writing, ultra woke AND desecrating the original work.
