It doesnt help that the phone innovation has really kind of plateau'd a bit with the exception of slightly better cameras each iteration. Whereas the last 10+ years, every year the leap in phone tech was far more compelling. This is across the entire market. I still have my iPhone XS Max (2018 model) and aside from the camera upgrade, I honestly don't see any new features compelling me to upgrade.

We might have hit peak phones until someone radically changes battery life or something.
The only thing I’ve seen in the last 4-5 years with iPhone that were cool was the face recognition and the night time camera. The night time pictures are wild how good they turn out.

But yeah back to investing. They need another new product to wow people anymore, they’ve plateaued across all their products. They hold back features that other companies already have just so they can add something on the next model. I think that’s why the car rumor had such a big effect on the stock.

Their new chips in their MacBook Pros are unbelievable. They ditched Intel for their own silicon and the performance is staggering. On top of that, the power efficiency is mind blowing. That is a pretty big innovation, but we all know the phones and services are their bread and butter.

They need a new "must have" device for sure.

Every major CPU manufacturer is taking the same approach. So that won't be an advantage in a year.

Big little etc.

I have a macbook pro from work that was made in 2018 I think. Might have to egg them for an upgrade.

Have people finally realized how stupid it is to buy a $1500 phone every year or two?

Especially when you can just buy shit like this (my current phone lol). Mine did cost $100 though.
Hard to show off your new phone when you're also a Karen who is afraid of being around your friends.

So what's the point when you're not showing off anymore?

No...this is not a concern for anyone. Would require massive negative sentiment AND those subsequent declines to not draw in buyers which of course is fantasy land.

In fact that's such a silly take you should be sure to unfollow that account, played themselves showing they don't understand the dynamics at all. Just taking what they learned about gamma effects on the upside with calls and assuming the reverse dynamics are true with puts.

"Going to be" The vix hitting 30 tells you they already did to a rather extreme degree. It's already happened market showing signs of nearing a bottom not just starting. It's crazy thinking that a couple % from high but look at carnage underneath. See previous tweet post. I mentioned this what two weeks ago? The market has been in a correction, we have a few giant corporations that can mask what is occurring at the index level.
