Dude I feel you.

I have been doing retard shit for a few months now. Watching puts go to zero while the underlying ticker is also red.

Puts are green, and I'm just lost as a result. Lol
This is why I never should touch options. I'm incinerating money with equities. Options will rob me the pleasure of a slow burn.

I did some loss harvesting today with some stinkers I should have sold off long ago. I'm about 40% cash now.

But instead of trying to figure out where to put it in the market I'm thinking I might just go to Vegas.

At least there I'll have a little fun.

Yeah I held onto some option contracts that are definitely going to expire worthless now. We got 2 weeks to turn this shit around.

Calls for Apple it is.

Have people finally realized how stupid it is to buy a $1500 phone every year or two?

Especially when you can just buy shit like this (my current phone lol). Mine did cost $100 though.

Not really, I know several people that upgraded last year and this year. Apple lowered the price by a couple hundred bucks, plus Verizon was giving $1k for last years model. So people were upgrading for $200 for the same hdd sized model, less if they downsized any. Keeping people buying them for $2-300 a year isn’t that unreasonable. I do know several guys ( and kids) who were diehard buy the new iPhone every year types who finally started skipping the new releases, so I think the hype of them like 5-10 years ago has mostly died down.

I keep mine until the lag is unbearable or it has some kind of major problem happen because I don’t care about which model I have, I just want it to work. I’m not most people though.

Most people always getting the newest models are the types who are doing it as a status symbol

It doesnt help that the phone innovation has really kind of plateau'd a bit with the exception of slightly better cameras each iteration. Whereas the last 10+ years, every year the leap in phone tech was far more compelling. This is across the entire market. I still have my iPhone XS Max (2018 model) and aside from the camera upgrade, I honestly don't see any new features compelling me to upgrade.

We might have hit peak phones until someone radically changes battery life or something.

I’ve had 3 iPhones since the original iPhone 3G which was the 2nd model I think? I only upgraded when they changed the screen size, and after providers stopped subsidizing the cost with a contract it was a hard pill to swallow. Even the last phone I got was the XR which the Apple store worker convinced me to get because it was cheaper than the max pro or whatever it was called and other than a camera for $300 more, the phone was the same.
