OK I am going to ask a couple of basic questions.
Do you know how options function? Ie.. intrinsic value, time value etc? If so, do you use any calculators to factor in the greeks when making decisions?
I'm not saying this to be mean but it sounds you are the guy who comes and sits at my poker table and who's knowledge of the hold'em comes from watching Rounders and Molly's game.
How much did you pay for that long dated SPY call? I'm guessing $22-ish? I can see resistance at about $289 for SPY. Hopefully we bust through it.

I doubled down and dollar cost averaged 2 more Jan '21 BA way out of the money calls. Trump will not let them go bankrupt in an election year. Or I'm wrong and I tossed more money in the dumpster.

Just about right 22.2, yea I have a gambling issue at times. I have about 5k funny money I am seeing if I can do anything with and trying to learn more about options. I am still using most of the retirement saving much more traditionally. So far I am learning I am a lot dumber than I think.

I really hate making big gains in the short term, just makes me want to sell, I'm up $9/share on a SPY purchase from yesterday. Recipe for a second decline is brewing, but it could be months away. No choice but to leave some money in because future gains don't care about how I feel about the fundamentals.

I expected the correction to be this week or at least be a slow stable week, up or down. We have multiple staple sectors shitting the bed, supply chains really fucked up, and layoffs going crazy but everything’s value is going nuts this week. I was happy about my AMD sale at $49 and now I’m like wtf just happened. I’m not mad or anything, just wtfing.

Seriously though. Watch some videos. Do some reading first. I am nowhere near the level of mastery of
Blazin
but with a modicum of learning you can make some money. I still make dumb trades (see my BA fiasco above), but I also make some money occasionally.First and foremost, do some learning first. I cant stress it enough. If you choose to ignore this advice then please, please, please advertise your trades here before you make them so we can get on the other side

Yep, and I knew that. I also knew the earnings were going to be shitty for last quarter, but since they weren’t as shitty as expected the prices are climbing. I just always find it hard to wrap my head around that even though I know that’s how it works.
My head says “Companies took a shit and so should their stocks”, every time.

Here's a WSB loss porn story for you. I'm 25 making good money. Blow it all on booze, drugs, my car and women. My boss is close friends with the founder of Winnebago, a momo darling of it's day. It had fallen on hard times and was making a come back. We all are buying like crazy. Buying on margin, parleying. Boss tells us UHaul is going to buy Winnies and stock them at all their locations.
I borrow 20K at a 22% personal loan and buy OTM calls, figuring I'd hear if the deal was off.
I read on the scrolling news it's off. Swing and a miss.
