Resolved d93697cd8a1d. This market resolves to my best understanding of what happened, based on flagship tech coverage (The Information, The Verge, NYT, WSJ...), as also public declarations of them. I'll wait for a complex of evidence to emerge. If I don't feel comfortable with any explanation...

They were founded as a non-profit. That their mission is such shouldn't be surprising. They converted to some weird "capped profit" structure before Microsoft injected them with cash.
The longer this plays out, the more it looks like this was the board attempting to stave off a hostile takeover by MSFT, and it looks like they're about to fail.
