I feel like the market didn't really react to the interest rate cut like I expected, which tells me the cut was "priced in" which is kind of crazy.
I'm fairly confident this market is a zombie market for the most part, with the exception of AI leaders. I am trying to figure out how to capitalize on a downturn in general, or sort out a strategy.

I mean, IWM is also up almost 11% on the year.
I do think it's very confusing right now though as we turn into China with fake government numbers everywhere. I think everyone's hoping for a return to normalcy, but I don't know that it's ever coming back. Covid just really fucked the world up in a major way.

Agreed, there is a lot trepidation in general. Still pushing highs but not having any type of breakouts. All the signals are that things want to go up, but it seems like there is a lot of underlying fear, whether it be elections, some bad news crash, world news event, something that is keeping people from going all in. Which is strange with the flood of money in all economies around the world. House of cards must collapse at some point.
There are some great opportunities though right now. I just got back from a vacation so I'm finally at my computer again and it's been a good few days. I put a few long calls in on LUNR(already up over 40%, but it's got a feb expiration so I am letting this ride) and a few smaller but still long calls on some mini-penny style stocks that seem prime for a jump and exit.

Not literally Penny, but stocks under 5 as the true definition goes.
I posted it in one of the threads but I took out 6+ month calls on 4 different weed stocks, all positions 10-20k. Sold one already for 20% gain. They tend to get irrational spikes up around election seasons or when some moron talks about legalization. They are all in the money and about neutral from when I bought them. They all seem to have found their bottoms too.
probably not the most efficient time to money ratio, but if I get a big spike I could double or triple the 10k.
the other one I put 10k into is RCAT as they are expected to win some big government contract in next few weeks. If they do it should be nice gains and if they don’t I’d probably lose half(also about equal to purchase price atm)

I should have held rklb, it’s now trading around 10.00! I sold a 25k cost call for 100k+, probably be worth quarter million now if I held. Sad panda indeed. I will get back in if it dips but it’s so far out of bounds I was almost tempted to do a short term put as it goes back into the BB.
i Always try to keep a small handful of 10k extremely long calls on stocks I think have a good chance of growth in the next year. They are my “long shots” like the rklb one was and they tend to always pay out, just typically not much like that one did, maybe 5-10% Is normal. I’m always happy to share positions or back up my claims. Also keep in mind these are not million dollars beta, insane small amounts in the scheme of my positions.
