On an unrelated note, I just converted one of my web apps used by the operations peeps to KnockoutJS and Typescript. Originally it was using some really ugly jQuery stuff and I wanted to clean it up.

I must say, what they've done with Typescript is pretty damn cool. It feels like I'm coding in C# or Java - interfaces, abstract classes, inheritance, generic types, etc. None of this really exists in Javascript naturally.. Knockout is an old library, but in combination with Typescript it really felt very similar to Silverlight/WPF. Neat stuff.

Wait, wasn't Lendarios trying to say you wouldn't know how to do Typescript development if all you were, was a C# monkey who naturally would only be able to hit F5? And then he called everyone an aspie?

No wonder he makes 7 figures. That guy can sell anything!

Knockout js does not need any build task, or nodes, or package management. I could explain it to you khaines, but I'm afraid you will think it's xml.

Let's walk through the conversation since you can't seem to keep it straight. Your original statement.

I love c# but it has a major problem. It does everything for you. So when you have to do something outside of is wheelhouse like tsx development, it really fails, and the you lack the knockledge because all you are used to, is pressing F5.
Aside from commenting on how preposterous that statement is I also asked what tsx was because I had never heard that terminology before and when I googled it literally nothing software related came up. This was your response:

tsx = typescript into jsx.
Note the word "typescript" here. Never heard of jsx either so I googled that. This was the first search result in google:

JSX is a preprocessor step that adds XML syntax to JavaScript.
Then you went on some rant about 17 different other things that had nothing to do with the original statements and I had no idea what you were even going on about. Then you called everyone aspies. Then Jake mentioned what he was doing with typescript here:

Notice how he's talking about Typescript here lendarios? Do you see that he isn't talking about Knockout js in that statement? Which is odd because it directly flies in the face of your original comment. Hope that clears everything up.

There's a reason he has a negative seven million Tuconots balance.

In an unrelated note myself, In light of some things that have occurred over the past month or so, I have dived headlong into writing unit/instrumentation tests for any new code I write. I'm also doing it for any code I refactor. You might ask yourself, "Why weren't you doing this before?" Various reasons. Mostly because the previous developer didn't do it, and none of the other engineers here do it, so I was just following "the way its done" which is to say, write the code, device test it as best you can, then hand it off to another team. Fix anything they find, rinse, repeat. It occurred to me that this was not the best way to go about the process. So I've spent the better part of the last couple of weeks on this and am maybe about halfway through the one app I was refactoring. I sat down with my boss the other day to explain exactly what I was going (remember, not the "way it was done") and he's onboard with it, especially since this will reduce the amount of time the other team will need to run through their tests.

So anyone have any good resources for Unit Testing? I'm mostly going off a couple of articles I found and the repos for a couple of example apps.

Let me know when you are done talk about things you don't know.

When you have done a nodejs package, build wrapped inside your existing 4.5.2 website, with gulp and webpack distributions, reading from multiple github repositories, then you can come and talk about how easy or hard it is.

Feel free to google those so you know what we are talking about.

The actual tasks are not complicated if you are used to non VS development. Which was my point before Aspies jumped all over the place.
