As a consultant? Yes. That's why I'm not one anymore.
The only value add in being a FTE is that I know I won't be sitting at home, unpaid, if something does fall through the cracks. When I was a consultant, my renewals came through at the 11th hour on the last possible day, every single time, and sometimes that meant not going to work for a week (and not getting paid) while all of the paperwork was dealt with, approved, and security clearances were brought up to date.
Still doesn't mean I know what I'll be doing next week. They change shit around on me constantly. At least I know I'll be earning a living, though.
