I've found Indian engineers will work 24/7 but produce the most garbage-ass non-scalable barely functioning code. Maybe it's just my industry, but I have a feeling it's not.

Maybe these bosses are hoping they can take the diarrhea code indians write and pass it through AI to make it more solid. I really don't know. A lot of our job postings are for Bangalore as well.

On my front, we had a.single person joining to take on a fairly large project. Got the word last week that he got laid off. Now they're asking for schedule estimates for me to do it..

I kind of just laugh now, but I noticed my beard is going grey real fast.
They don't really work 24/7 but they do respond on off hours in the US since that's their daytime, so they can more easily get away fleecing US companies with that lie.

The best Indians are honestly the ones that do make it Stateside. Offshore Indian employees there are two types:

1. Ones that work like "Americans" you give them problems and they find solutions. Usually shitty ones.
2. Require step by step guidance on everything and waste infinite amounts of time.

This is my exact experience.

All the people I work with on the tech side @ Adobe are all Indians (in India/Canada(surprise). Every single major issue I've ever had I've opened tickets with then spent weeks waiting for their unhelpful support. In a lot of cases they just send me links to documentation on their site like I haven't already referenced it looking for a solution. In each case I end up resolving it myself at which point they want me to do a write up on the solution for them...

Company hired an Indian CTO. Pretty much every hire went that way after but it started well before when a couple directors and lower VPs got in the door. Gave him $15 million to start and gone in a few years due to how terrible he was. All the lower levels remain and continue to hire the same however.

Watching this happen at my wife's work is kind of fascinating. It's far more aggressive than any Pajeetification I've ever experienced.

Last week they fired the Principal Architect. Guy has worked there 10 years and started as a developer. Built a large chunk of their in house manufacturing software himself over the years. The Indian consultants arranged an engineering department all hands yesterday where they immediately presented the architect's last 3-6 months of work as their own and how successful it is despite only working for the company since November.

The Indian director who is my wife's temporary manager puts down a deadline of March for some big update they want. But only after they robbed them of their architect and other dev resources. This is quite clearly intended to set the team up for failure so they can claim incompetence and get rid of my wife's entire team.

I told her to start applying immediately. I don't think there's any escape from this.

We found our react developer, anyone an Azure guru? Managing resources, setting up private VPNs and communication between resources, managing scaling and monitoring of resources, azure front door and load balancing, bonus for experience in azure gov.

official job posting should be up within the month but we are growing and my amateur level is no longer cutting it

Got an interview at meta. Not really thinking I have a shot in hell as I'm not going to grind leetcode 8 hours a day, but going to go through the process anyways and see how it goes.

Had an interview at Celestica today for the job I do now and I have no idea what the interviewer thought. It was at 7am because India... So I was off my game.

I had a situation you mentioned forever ago. Did some interviews last month. Hired a guy who seemed okay. I was a little skeptical about him.

His first day was yesterday and some completely other person showed up. When I challenged him on who he was he was just like "uhhh I'm Tim." You look nothing like Tim and sound nothing like him. Who are you? Asked him to leave but IT insisted we call security and revoke all his stuff. In this job market people are doing this?

They are digging in like ticks everywhere more than normal because the hammer is falling on all the govt graft jobs they are in. I think their strat is if they can over-jeet the companies that are still letting them in, they can become too numerous to cut loose. I am hoping Trump admin taxes the fuck out of expatriating cash and H1Bs to the point that only the handful of smart ones get to work in the US at all. I also think there is an unspoken deal between corp management and the Jeet Visa brigade that basically amounts to the Jeets helping them break remote work for the IT field, because of course the Jeets will RTO for less money, as their alternative is staying home and sharing one vonage hotspot with their two dozen other poo roommates. I do a lot of the admin backend shit for our HR dept and I have heard this being openly discussed. Upside is the Poos are so bad at their jobs (and are always getting in trouble for sexual harassment) and most medium sized IT departments like ours have too many SMEs that are single points of failure, that there is zero way for them to pull this off.

I hope you are making sure your legal department goes after those guys for fraud. Identity fraud plus the thousands or tens of thousands of dollars they wasted on you and HR and everyone else putting the effort in to get them onboarded.

In some future episode of a true crime podcast: Man hears some other guy landing a good paying IT job, decides to go there and get the job for himself. The body was never found.

Jeez. Didn't even think of the things you listed. I am so not into politics of any kind. My dad, girl, fam etc. live in Boston. I will stay a few days a week at their houses for a couple months. My dad won't stop calling me, he's so excited that I will stay there a day or to at his house.

I get all my social shit outside work. I do value job security and the pension is the biggest reason to swap IMO.
What did you end up doing?

70/30 me going to work for the state.

The offer they gave me is contingent on a background check and my references. They JUST finished my references yesterday. Not sure on the background check being completed.

I obviously won't give my two weeks until I have the actual offer in hand, so until I see everything in writing...

TLDR: Not sure yet, leaning toward the state.
