Movie was pretty great, the dog killing trope to establish just how bad the bad guys are was kinda lame.
The fact that it wasn't just a trope, but the entire impetus for everything he did is amazing. A real fucking trope would've been dead girlfriend/son/mom etc. Usually a dead dog is just some 'icing on the evil cake' moment. This was the icing, cake, and fucking a la mode.Movie was pretty great, the dog killing trope to establish just how bad the bad guys are was kinda lame.
its shot like a work of art. the cinematographer and the fight choreographer were NOT shutting their brains off. this is on par with Matrix but without the tranny contrived jesus trope. You've seen this movie many times before. Not sure what people are going on about..
It has allot of cool action scenes with tons of guns influenced by Asian cinema ,and it's shot well so that makes it fun to watch ,but it's no monument to film making.
It's the definition of shut your brain off, and just enjoy the movie for what it is.
You know as much about film as a 3 year old. On par with the Matrix hahaits shot like a work of art. the cinematographer and the fight choreographer were NOT shutting their brains off. this is on par with Matrix but without the tranny contrived jesus trope.
Payback, $70k, and they did put some work into letting you know he was pissed about the betrayal more than anything. The money amount was a running joke plus they drugged up his wife until she ODed, but he didn't give a shit about that either. It's like that Mel Gibson movie where he kills everyone for like a stolen $100k or something super low?
WAIT a FUCKING MINUTE, by this are you saying that the action/wire work/kung fu and keanu white boyingly prancing about, was good? You know as much about film as a 3 year old. On par with the Matrix haha
Sure, it all looks like "lol wirefu"now, because movie studios ran it into the ground. But at the time? Come on. The Matrix is still the most jaw-dropping thing I have ever seen in cinema.WAIT a FUCKING MINUTE, by this are you saying that the action/wire work/kung fu and keanu white boyingly prancing about, was good?
The Matrix had horrible fake martial arts in there, i mean sure it was good for white boys to watch a white boy fumbling about, but it's not good. as a film/premise/sci fi, it's good, the wire fu was bad.
Yeah, all too often people watch a movie again and realize it is dated and think that makes it less than it should be. If you aren't judging it against the time it came out, you're not being fair. At the time, The Matrix was revolutionary (no pun intended).Sure, it all looks like "lol wirefu"now, because movie studios ran it into the ground. But at the time? Come on. Agree wholeheartedly. I remember watching it and thinking the action movie had turned a corner. Sure, every uninspired movie has reused the 'hanging-in-the-air-kick' idea till we're all sick of seeing it but the first time I saw that movie I was floored. I went back the next day and watched it again. Such a shame the two sequels were utter bottom-gravy.At the time, The Matrix was revolutionary (no pun intended).
You seriously didn't find any interactiion in the movie funny at all? There was humor?
