Personally I think it's impossible to predict what's going on now in the proceedings but I'm leaning toward a not guilty verdict and the guy walks. Next most likely is some guilty verdict on a lesser charge that will be immediately appealed.

there is no wiggle room. Either he acted in self defense or he didnt. If they cant get everone on board with that then this jury is fubar.

I think the prosecution did a good job of making it really convoluted in that courtroom. For us outside looking in, it seems obvious. For them, though, especially after getting the lesser charge instructions, I am thinking it's not clear cut anymore.

Edit: And they're women.

Women who are likely afraid of guns. I'm guessing they dont have a big problem with the actual self defense, but they are debating why he couldnt have just shot him in the leg or something to defend himself.

I wish we could watch jury deliberations. Make it like the Big Brother live feeds and charge people to watch them. You could get rid of the national debt in 5 years.

Hung jury is the most likely scenario. I can point to one person on that jury that almost certainly isn't going to vote to let Z off the hook.

I'm sticking with the hung jury prediction too. If so, how long likely before new trial? If it takes like three months or more to reboot this thing, I'm wondering how much drop off in interest level we might see. I'd have to assume there would be attention loss for watching another trial. Plus who knows what other more profitable stories the media might latch onto by the time it gets going again.

Doesn't even look like a whole lot of demonstrators at the courthouse overall for a Saturday. I guess it IS summer in Florida though. But I seem to recall OJ's trial having a fuck ton of people gathered in front by comparison.

I can't imagine they would retry him if it is a hung jury. Their case was just so weak and the judge went out of her way to leave stuff out that the defense wanted. Political pressure though, who knows, I mean it never should have gotten here already.
