They've only been deliberating what, 10-11 hours so far? Relax guys. Some juries deliberate a long time.

I dunno. This Tv show had a really good pace to it and now it seems like they are milking the ending with filler. Needs some editing imo.

I will say I'm pretty surprised they have even taken this long for what I think is a pretty straightforward case.

I think the problem is that we are trying to apply logic to this situation. You just never know what these women will respond to and what they believe in. It could be something as simple as a bunch of women who fancy themselves CSI experts cause they saw it on tv and keep thinking to themselves "where is the dna!!!". Another problem could be that when the fuck can you get a bunch of women to agree on anything.

all i've read is that the longer the deliberation the better the defense should feel.

i think after a couple days, anyone on the "guilty" side ought to think hard on what "beyond a shadow of a doubt" means

So... while we are waiting. What is the legal definition of "beyond a reasonable doubt". In day to day circumstances I usually judge things in probability.

Lets say a juror thought it was 90% likely that zimmerman is guilty of all charges vs. 10% that he was acting in self defense. Is 90% "beyond a reasonable doubt"? Purely speaking in terms of our judicial systems interpretation.

Question regarding manslaughter basically, so they're off Murder 2, and looking at Manslaughter for sure now. If they decide no manslaughter, Zman walks free.

Interesting that they're even considering that rather than considering the self defense.

Yeah, if they decided he did self-defense, manslaughter shouldn't even be coming up. Then again, the prosecution tried their best to obscure that.

The standard is beyond reasonable doubt. Not beyond a shadow of doubt.

the pat answer is that it's different for everyone. Some people might say it means 90% sure (that's probably about where most people put it), some might say 99%, some might say 51%. The key is, whatever doubt you have, is it reasonable.

Its possible they're wanting to make sure self defense is an exception to manslaughter.
