Mitch McConnell isn't a native Kentuckian either, but people there keep electing him anyways. Something about their die-hard, nutjob ultra conservative ideology must appeal to voters there, and no offense but I have a hard time including Kentucky with the "North" when you have those two idiots, who would probably be welcome in most southern states, getting reelected there.
On a serious note though I can see how it is an eternal debate, and personally I feel that Kentucky is betwixt the North/South more than solely belonging to either, but...damn bro. McConnell and Paul...

Mitch McConnell has lived in Kentucky way way way way way longer than Paul.
My mother knew Mitch McConnell from back in the days when she worked at a bank and he was a customer there. That was like the 70s, before I was born. Actually that was like the late 60s and early 70s before my sister was even born or adopted and my father was in Thailand serving in the Air Force and she worked at a bank and McConnell would come in there. She said she couldn't stand him.
But he brings home the bacon for the state, its undeniable.
