Most folks I know support TM, but I really haven't heard a single one of them argue unemotionally, or not cite the Media reports rather than the case. Basically all the arguments seem to boil down to the fact that the prosecution didn't prove anything, and unless something has changed drastically overnight, I'm pretty sure the burden of proof is on the Prosecution. Defense doesn't need to prove shit.

To think Zimmerman is guilty you just have to completely ignore the evidence at this point. Maybe if you only watch CNN or read Salon and thats what you're basing your opinion on.
Which as you well know, juries have been known to do. Predicting verdicts is like betting 00 on a single spin of a roulette wheel. Which is why I laugh anytime I actually see someone trying to predict the outcome. (I know you aren't but others here have.)

The prosecutions argument is basically that Zimmerman should have stayed in his car. He shouldn't have followed him. That by following him, TM was only "defending himself" by attacking him. Isn't TM allowed to defend himself from this guy following him?

So we just shouldn't approach black people because they might attack us and we might have to kill them, then we'd be murderers. Thats their argument.

Is the prosecutor still rambling on? I thought it was the defenses turn today, and they were planning to be done by noon.

Also, don't try to say trayvon should have run home. We all know the overweight mexican was faster than the football player. I heard t-dawg was only a linebacker, like the slowest position on the field. Whereas zimmerman is so fast that he ran on top of the water all the way from cuba.

Sure, but I think thats more rare. In the trials I've seen, the jurors go where they are led by the evidence; now that doesn't always mean that the evidence goes towards the truth depending on the manipulation of said evidence.

There certainly are cases where juries have completely ignored the evidence. (OJ, easy example.) Which is why I say I'm only 90% sure of an acquittal, because juries be crazy.

Everyone I work with argues the case either on emotional points or on meaningless factoids. "He shouldn't have gotten out of the car!" etc. Hopefully the jury isn't the same way.

To be fair the people you work with probably just saw a white man killing a black kid and thought "guilty". It's the same here.

The only thing giving me hope in all this is that the jurors actually had to sit and watch all this shit, unlike all the plebes out there who tune in for the news highlights for a few minutes a day, and read shit on FB.

Thats because the majority of people are not following the case and only believe what was shared with them by the media when the case first became popular. Throughout this entire trial the defense has been able to destroy anything put forth by the prosecution...hell, even the prosecutions witnesses were better for the defense.

The media played on peoples emotions and stirred them up in a frenzy, but creating a racial issue where there was none. Until the media starts spending some time in prison for editing tapes, or fanning flames like the Duke Lacross case, these situations will continue.

What the prosecution needs is a Johnny Cochran moment. "If you feel sad then Zimmerman is bad!!"

Yep. Jurors are the X-factor which made me swear that I will take every traffic ticket and beyond I ever get to court unless its a case that appeals to emotions. One I remember in particular was a guy that sped through a work zone with workers present, and didn't even have a coherent argument about his case for the entire trial, and photographic evidence made it beyond any doubt he had broken the law. The jury ended up finding him not guilty because a second guy drove by at the same time going slightly faster, a fact the guy who was defending himself had failed to even bring up during court, and something there had been absolutely no testimony about.

Every time I hear the prosecutor bring up Hate (He's really pushing it a lot) I think of the post of him doing pull-ups with HATE and FEAR tattooed on his knuckles.
