Does anyplace in Vegas still have $5 craps tables? I love to play craps but I get in over my head on a $10 minimum table.

All of the Station Casinos have $5 craps (except for Red Rock). Closest to the strip is the Palace Station. Best, if you don't mind going to Henderson, is the Sunset Station.

Green Mountain is great too. Nice and quiet-

You'll have to go off the beaten path a bit. As people have stated above. You might also be able to check some of the cheap, shitty casinos on the strip (Imperial Palaca, Circus Circus, etc.)

Bill's Gambling Hall used to have cheap tables, but they apparently just went through a remodel and are opening back up sometime this year under a different name with Caesar's being co-owners now, so who knows what their table prices will be now. O'Sheas also has cheap tables but they are usually full, but on the other hand they have $1 Michelob bottles and $3 Irish Car Bombs to entertain you while you wait for an opening.

I know I have found some $5 single-deck blackjack here and there, but generally they only pay out 6-5 on blackjacks which swing the overall odds down to nearly that of roulette.

When I stayed at Treasure Island(TI or whatever it's branded as now) about 4-5 years ago, they still had $5 craps in the morning/afternoon. The table minimums bumped up in the evening, but if you were already there before the table changed over they'd let you keep playing at $5.

A bunch of friends and I pretty much monopolized a $5 craps table all afternoon and well into the night. We eventually pussied out and quit when this Asian guy complete with giant bodyguards showed up and started slapping down $5,000 chips like they were candy. All of a sudden rolling the dice wasn't quite as carefree and fun as when it was just us cheapskates losing $5 a pop.

One of the things I like about craps is getting to watch the high rollers, especially since a lot of them are complete dumbasses making hundred dollar bets on the hard ways and shit. I find it fun to watch them throwing around thousands of dollars while I stand there conservatively playing my little stack of chips.

Me and a friend watched a dude lose $60K in like 20 minutes in Reno once playing 2 blackjack hands at once and betting $2000 a hand. Every time he dropped 10 grand he had to sign a check for another 10 in chips and that was happening every 5 minutes. I don't know how it turned out because a casino employee finally came by and told us to stop gawking at the dude they were fleecing.

the linq/quad/?? is opening end of the month and its a brand new (?) casino on what used to be the imperial palace (across the street from... bellagio i wanna say?), it has the giant ferris wheel thingie behind it. usually when a new casino opens up they are pretty loose with slots and limits so may wanna try that

It's funny I've only been to this place twice and both times was to watch that knight show so I could scream for no reason and yell at the waitresses "Hey wench bring me another coke!".

Yeah, considered it last year but don't think I'll pass up SOE Live this year, having so much fun with Landmark.

Ditto might think about it. I went to one once iirc, when I was playing EQ and all I remember from it is drinking something cores at some bar in the Hilton and then off to a huge ass BBQ at someone's house that was in the Guild.

The new PH suites or whatever are really nice and the pool there actually has ok scenery. Took some clients there and was kind of scared what they would think but we had a blast. (they are more used to Cosmo / Encore).

Planet Hollywood has a nice casino, but I don't like the hotels. The elevators are really difficult to find. I've been wasted and stuck in the casino area for nearly an hour before.

Warp Core Breaches from Quarks (has been closed for years, Star Trek Experience is gone). I jokingly said that's what I wanted a friend to bring to a LAN on a liquor run and he showed up with a large red cooler and mats for a 2nd batch in the car. Things got a little hazy from there.

I stayed at the Trump. We needed a non-casino hotel; my partner has severe allergies/asthma and the cigarrette smoke is so bad he goes into a really bad coughing fit. I was really surprised about the hotel, the room was fucking gorgeous, the service was excellent and it really was a block away from the strip (we used to walk through the mall). They also have a free shuttle to the Wynn.

Totally recommend it.

Just stayed at the Venetian. The room was awesome, but the rest of it felt a little too much like an upscale mall with a crappy casino in it for my tastes. I would have preferred to stay somewhere with more stuff to do for fun. The 65yo guy with the 19yo girlfriend? was good comic relief though.

If you want to do things downtown, this can be a decent source of information, updated regularly by some coworkers. Not a hobby either, it's part of their job.Downtown Ticker s going on in Downtown Vegas!

Events and calender here too, this originally was kind of a Zappos Employee Newsletter (ZEN) but grew into a bit more general than that -Downtown ZEN
