Breaking 100k concurrent within 30minutes at noon on a Thursday.

They are going to surpass their launch concurrent.
I think they break 300k by 9pm est.

Got in after a bunch of LE-52 Login Sever Errors. 14ms to Server now I'm in, no lag.
Graphical updates most noticeable with lighting, reflections, and fire in particular, even in the early zones.
Rolled a Primalist, likely try a Beastmaster first. Probably going to buy the Top Supporter pack, lots of cool stuff, and great value. Happy to give these guys some extra money.

edit : DC'd now can't get back in. Oh well, to be expected. Watching Raxx racing HC while I wait for things to settle down a bit. =)
Raxx is 1st, lvl 34, and he's been DC'd twice. Those new champion mobs look dangerous, I like it.

I got in pretty easy, played for an hour. Gotta get back to work for an hour or so though. Good feeling knowing I should be done with the campaign this evening or tmrw afternoon at the latest.

I played an online and then offline Falconer the last 2 weeks, and went Sentinel to start this cycle - man, the Sentinel is def lower damage but higher survivability early on. Much slower.

I worked out before the game was patchable, and now, unfortunately, I am tired and need a nap. Just old man playing video games issues. My excuse is that I was up until midnight playing V Rising with my son, and up at 6 am.

Anyway, looking forward to the new stuff.

They absolutely have been watching people bitch about poe2 and went and like doubled the loot drops in LE.

The campaign has never been particularly difficult, but this is insane now. Entire inventories full of rares/uniques per campaign area. Had to make a loot filter at like level 10.

Getting big D3 vibes here

I think it's been a thing since the first season, when I watched people doing leveling in the patch before it was crazy how much loot everyone was getting cause of the nemesises and loot lizards. They nerfed loot lizards this season I think but it's still very high. Nemesis is basically 1 unique per area while lvling, which is crazy.

Finished the "campaign", or more like finished up to the point where it makes more sense to go monos, cleared a mono quickly to see how it was and it went pretty smooth.

Playing Void Knight, didn't do the whole "level as paladin and respec" cause that sounded boring as fuck, instead I've been playing VK the whole time. Using Rive first, then also speced Erasing Strike to delete bosses faster. Pretty fucking slow at first though but really kicks in once you get Devouring Orb, that shit is so good with the autocast while moving, the orbs fire more orbs at shit too so you just kinda run around and a lot of the smaller stuff just dies. Still have the same setup at lvl 45ish, Rive is good as a filler to get mana back after using Erasing Strike, autocast Devouring Orbs and Anomaly for self buffs, using unspeced Volatile Reversal for movement(it's just a blink, not that good for leveling compared to other stuff but unspeced I think it's the best Sentinel movement skill now).

Need to get a good filter and tweak it first though, I used one during the campaign that was dogshit but I didn't want to spend time reworking it.

Hmm I didn't play the last big update so the lizards are new to me, but yea they are a huge part of the infinite loot explosions.

The further I get the more this feels like D3 to me. It's fine, but after 3 days and 10,000 unique items trying to find legendary potential I'm gonna probably get bored.

Lasta Weekpoch. It's too comfy. As much as people bag on GGG for trying to add RNG and difficulty and friction, without you just glide into the 98% state of your character's power then you're bored. And you'd think it'd be fun making a bunch of classes and fucking around, but not really. Most people start with a prefab build guide and their build does everything already so there's no need for niche characters except maybe a slightly faster clearer or a better bosser.

When you get everything you want in over abundance it just doesn't feel good. Starving to death for items also doesn't feel good, but I've never once had a dopamine rush in LE like I have in PoE or something like PD2.

I would say LE has much more build creativity/complexity than D3. But you definitely get showered with gear. Let's you try out builds much quicker....and get bored quicker. I'm hoping their endgame will have more meat to satisfy that boredom aspect.

Played for 2 hours tonight. Just can't do it. I fucking love so many of LE's systems, but their engine holds that game back so badly.

Yea it just doesn't do it for me. I did like 75% of the campaign today and just got bored and logged off.

The constant loot explosions combined with 0 difficulty just makes it so hard to care.

I'll probably give it some more time later just to see what they changed in their corruption endgame stuff

This is exactly how I felt last time playing this game.

The silver lining in all of this is that Last Epoch was never considered to be actual competition to D4 or PoE / PoE2.

Last Epoch, in its current form, already wipes the floor with D4 and has gained enough popularity that it will force PoE2s hand much quicker when it comes to improvements.

Regardless if you like Last Epoch or PoE2, the actual gamer is the winner in all of this as it will push both to continue improvements to both games. Both have their pros and cons, so whichever side of the fence you fall on, you'll have a quality product to play imo.

Yep, I just want to play a fun league start over a weekend every couple months followed up by a couple hours of endgame after work during the week. Ideally POE 1, 2, and Last Epoch. 2 of those 3 seem to have it figured out so far.
